A box and whisker plot or diagram, is a graph summarising a set of data. The shape of the boxplot shows how the data is distributed and it also shows any outliers. It is a useful way to compare different sets of data as you can draw more than one boxplot per graph.
Min and Max
The lowest and largest amount in a given set of data.
Lower Quartile
The median of the set of data heading to the left side of the median.
Median
The middle amount of a given set of data.
Upper Quartile
The median of the set of data heading to the right side of the median.
