A central tendency is a descriptive overview of a dataset represented by a single value near the center of the data distribution. Central tendency is a subset of descriptive statistics that includes data variability (dispersion).
Mean
A mean is the average of a data set, found by adding all numbers together and then dividing the sum of the numbers by the number of numbers.
Median
The median is defined as the middle value of a sorted list of numbers. The middle number is found by ordering the numbers.
Range
The difference between the highest values and lowest values in a given set of numbers.
Mode
The mode is the most common number that appears in a set of data.
