3D Printing

For this 3D printing benchmark, I printed a model of WALLE I created in Blender. It's about 3 1/2 in tall and was modeled to hold a mini doll house plant in his hands.

WALLE MODEL IN BLENDER

After I modeled WALLE in Blender, I printed the stl file at the MIX Fab Lab in Mesa. It took 4 1/2 hours to print. I carefully removed the supports and lightly sanded with sandpaper and an electric nail file to remove extra support remnants.

I used Polycam to make a scan of a one inch, doll house plant that the finished WALLE print is holding and I imported the scan's .obj file into Blender.
