Noriega_ IDea Collage

For this idea collage, I wanted to depict my interest in animation (stop-motion and computer), as well as hand drawn illustration and the preproduction stage in filmmaking. An artist that I looked up to as a little boy was Tim Burton, whose dark whimsicality and play on poetics and fantasy inspired me to pursue a career in animation and in turn, practice storytelling and world-building. Tim Burton's films and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio play a major role in my appreciation of the animation process. In my own work I’d like to explore the complex interrelation between light and darkness, good and evil, in human nature and the world around us. The inclusion of classic Pixar films in the collage indicates my passion for master storytelling and a fun cinematic experience suitable for all audiences. I inspire to one day write a good, dramatic story that I’ll be proud of.
