For this 3D modeling application, I decided to use a combination of both ZBrush (to model) and Blender (to render)- two programs that I am still trying to learn how to use. Prior to this semester, I was only familiar with modeling and rendering on Maya and Rhino- I was drawn to Zbrush because of word of mouth that it offers a much more effective and organic alternative to modeling complex characters.
Project Background: I came up with this character for my Capstone 1 project, in which we [my team] are developing a short comedic film about a racoon and a duo of bank robbers. I was originally planning to use Maya for modeling, but I had a last-minute change of heart and opted for ZBrush and Blender instead. I saw this as an excellent opportunity to not only test two new programs, but to also incorporate my current character design (the way it stood) into a fully developed environment to see about making any necessary adjustments prior to using it for my Capstone project.
Name: Vito
Physical Description: Vito is a large Italian man who has the build of a linebacker and a very large stomach. His most prominent feature is his large chin.
Personality: Vito is the muscle of the duo. He is the type of bully who picks on others for enjoyment. Unlike his accomplice Robert, Vito is loud, boisterous, and playfully naughty. His greatest weakness is his love of eating junk food and cuddly animals.
