Creating a doll house with characters. Mood in children associated with doll houses
since dollhouses are static, we explored how color could affect the “mood” in the rooms during play
Kids’ cognitive development to seeing different colors
Researched smart homes, lighting psychology
Isabella's Portion
Modeled dolls in Tinkercad
Dimensions in mm (shown in image)
Used a Build-a-Bear house for size reference
Original dimensions: length: 9 in, width: 7 in, height: 49 1/2 in.
Models before painting
Using sandpaper (320 grit) on the "feet" of the models to make them stand up straight
Primer before painting
Using acrylic paint and an airbrush kit to paint the base layer of the models
Final Results
Used fluid acrylic paint (with a white airbrushed base) to paint the models
I've used airbrushing for canvas paintings. This was my first time painting a 3D model with my airbrush equipment!
My roommates wonderful cat named Ducky was used as my reference for the cat
I used a small paint brush and fluid acrylic paint to design smaller details on the cat
*Overall, if I could change one thing with this project I would make the shapes exchangeable to each model
I believe it would further impact personality development and socialization association with shape and color. It also contributes more to play.
