This is a 3D scan of a small Aphrodite statue, about six inches tall. I scanned it with Polycam on my phone while it rotated on the turntable in the Fablab at Stauffer on the Tempe campus. The scan came out mostly clean, with good surface detail, though some areas—especially around the hair and edges—are slightly soft. If I were to 3D print it, I’d likely need supports along the sides since the weight distribution is uneven between the head and the base. I do not pay for Polycam and thus could not download the scan, but I did attend a 3D Printing Consultation at the Makerspace in Hayden Library and learn about how to prepare a STL file in UltiMaker Cura.
