After attempting to sculpt multiple structures in Blender and finding it difficult to obtain precise measurements, we decided to learn Onshape since it is primarily used for fabricating prototypes. This shift allowed us to create accurate models that matched the brackets with precision. We also chose to sculpt the face in Onshape because it provides more options for customization and places greater emphasis on the structural needs of the design. Modeling the pieces in this way ensured that the puppets could function properly.
The Onshape model printed in PETG proved to be resistant and reliable. The angle of the structure was softened using a fillet, which introduced a gentle curvature instead of a straight edge. This curvature improves the distribution of force and makes the piece significantly stronger. Onshape, which offers a free cloud based platform for design, allowed us to model these adjustments with precision.
