The earlier models were printed in ABS. They felt fragile, and several broke when they were dropped on the floor. We then decided to print them in PETG filament because it is faster to produce, less likely to break, and requires lower heat than ABS or ASA. The first prototypes were printed in pink filament and then painted with white nail polish.
The new versions will be printed in multiple materials. PETG will be used for the brackets, the main structure, and the gums. The teeth will be printed in ivory ASA, then carefully sanded and coated with nail polish or enamel to achieve the shine and texture associated with natural teeth.
