When replicating a meaningful object, does the meaning of the object change? If so, how? Does the original object lose impact?
How can I prepare a model for 3D creation? What aspect of the model do I need to be aware of?
I will research and create a 3D replica of an object in real life. I have a “good luck” charm in the form of a hamster plush hanging on my head phone case that I want to recreate in model/plastic form. I will research how to make the best scan, and then I will prepare the file to be printed. I will also research my object and any meaning in regards to the object. If I am successful, I will have successfully made a replica of the model that will be a physical object.
I scanned my hamster plush into a model in Polycam, my first issue was the quality of the scans. I had to scan it multiple times, and in the end I had to import it into belnder to fix the model.
I added black dots for the eyes in sharpie, and it is a little smaller than the original.
When I initially gave the 3D printer the file, it converted the size so small that I had to redue it. You can still see the shape, and I will definitely keep size in mind next time I need something printing.

If anything, the meaning of my original object grows after I made the replica. Something about having multiple verisons makes me feel like I could carry the little guy anywhere.

I definitly need to consider the size of the object, because that is what happend. If you are not careful, you could make it to big or to small. I also have to keep in mind the color and how the printer will print the piece. I have hope that I will better prepare for 3D printing in the future, and hold meaning in the little things.
