3D Modeled Braille
For my 3D modeling assignment, I chose to model my braille print press for 3D printing. This is my first time using Fusion360 and I went with the desktop version. I downloaded a png file of off brailletranslator.org and used it as an image "canvas" reference, I extruded diameter circles along with a cube surface or "base" for the braille to sit on.
My goal for next week is to figure out how to make the .stl model printable.
After that, I will be designing a card and using this print to make small indents in the cards surface.
I followed this video which demonstrated how to assemble a braille model from scratch for 3D printing in Fusion360. The only thing is that I did not fillet my surfaces and extruded the braille more than what was demonstrated so that it could indent card stock.
Base height: 5 mm
Braille height: 5 mm
Braille diameter: 1.5 mm
Total height: 10 mm
base length: 32 mm
base width: 4 mm
