NATIONAL FLAG
"Lose not yet hope, my friends, for trust in the Field. By the strike of the sword; Three becomes one, and the forces of darkness will no longer haunt us."
- Umindron the Martyr, The Verdant Creed
Umridel, officially the Most Divine Bastion of Umridel, is a mostly Elderkin nation located in West-Ciradon, gracing the southern shores of the Ruby Sea. It is ruled by Elves, though many other kin call it their home.
Here, the scriptures of the Verdant Creed serve as both moral compass and divine law, imparting a belief that the Field, the magical lifeblood of Tyrrell, is a sacred and divine power and is theirs to safeguard.
The Umridel Elves consider it their birthright to guide and protect the world as lions and shepherds of their Lesserkin, with the capital city built upon a sealed Gate, the nexus of their spiritual mission.
The Priesthood of the Creed ensures compliance, enforcing their zealous yet benevolent rule and maintaining a delicate balance of strict governance at the whims of nature.
Umridel's history started in the Aurathesist sect of the Verdant Creed, its teachings and members would shape the nation that would become Umridel following the incursion of the 4th Gate in Southern Ciradon
PRE-ELDERKIN HISTORY
The Region where Umridel now lies was home to the Marecea people, a human culture group that resided along The Ruby Sea, they where a diverse people and lived simple lives in the shadows of The Elruth Empire to the north.
As the first milenia of the 2nd age went by, the location of the Fourth gate was discovered. The Elruth Empire quickly claimed its location and fortified the land around it in case the The Forgotten would return as they had done with the previous three.
Manual labour and slaves where taken from the Marecea Lowlands to help build the mighty fortress of Tundegqi It took two generations of human labourers to finish the construction and the infrastructure to supply the fortification with manpower and agriculture was established by forcing the primitive Mareceans to work the fields to supply the new Protectorate of Elruth

THE FOURTH GATE
During the second milenium of the 2nd age the Dwarven fortress made to protect the suspected location of a The Fourth Gate crumbled to infighting as the forces of darkness came again to Ciradon. Armies of Elves and Dwarves rallied to fend off the evil, while the weak minded humans and lesserkin of the Mareca Lowlands flocked to the banner of the new Dark lord.
The Dark Lord leading the armies of darkness was rumored to be a dwarven general of the Elruth Empire, forever corrupted by the Old Gods. Within five years their armies of creatures and men slowly gained ground pushing both elves and dwarves back.

THE MARTYR
As Darkness again threatened to consume West Ciradon, the hero Umindron Viridus emerged from the chaos to rally hope and resistance. This unsung hero was initially a common soldier, known only for their exceptional bravery and prowess on the battlefield.
During a critical moment in the conflict, the Umrindon managed to slay one of the dark lord's mighty abominations with their sword—an act that stained the weapon forever with the blood of the Forgotten. However, as the situation grew dire, the warrior and their dwindling army were strategically pushed toward the coast.
As the final confrontation unfolded, the hero valiantly faced their end with calm acceptance, leaving their last words to the three remaining companions: "Lose not yet hope, my friends, for trust in the Field. By the strike of the sword; Three becomes one, and the forces of darkness will no longer haunt us." These words, is now inscribed in the annals of the Verdant Creed.
At the foot of Mount Zuriss, reinforcements arrived to find three lights briefly illuminating the sky as the Kochur River flooded its banks. Nature, responding to the will of the Field, reclaimed the Mareca Lowlands. The Elven and Dwarven alliance witnessed the transformation, with the once-bloody battlefield turning into fertile grasslands, and the abandoned Dwarven fortress becoming a forest of tall trees.
Amidst this rebirth, three stone statues were found by the turquoise waves of the Ruby Sea, holding a sword still stained with blood. The martyr's sacrifice became a catalyst for renewed hope, marking the turning point in the battle against the forces of darkness as they were pushed back from Ciradon.

UMRIDEL'S FOUNDATION
Following the successful defense against the forces of evil, and the sealing of the fourth gate by Tassendreli mages of the Verdant Order, the Empire of Elruth ceded the lands surrounding the Gate's location to the order of mages entrusting them to stay vigil over what the dwarves failed to contain.
This unique circumstance led to the establishment of a new state, independent of both Elruth and Tassendrel, dedicated to the protection of Ciradon and the vigilance over the sealed Gate. The mages, inspired by the miraculous events and deeply influenced by the scriptures of the Verdant Creed, which blended elements of the Tassendreli religion with their own Fieldic teachings, laid the foundation for Umridel.
Umridel's inception was marked by a oath to safeguarding the delicate balance of nature and the realm itself. The governance of Umridel, influenced by the Verdant Creed, carried the principles of unity, sacrifice, and protection, setting the stage for a nation that would evolve into a influencal Elderkin along the coast of West-Ciradon.
The Marecea was trown out of their ancestral lands by the new rightful wardens of the Marecean Lowlands. The Marecea that where known to collude with the forces of evil where executed and the remaining where driven out of Umridel. Some fled into the Elruthian Desert around the Elru-River and the Elruth empire. Some of their lands were claimed by Tassendrel which later founded the city of Marechal on the other side of the Kochur River.
