East Parthus

East Parthus (pronounced Par-thuus) is a major region of Tyrrell. It comprises the eastern most peninsulas, gulfs, and inlets of the greater supercontinent of Parthus. It is bordered by the Jeweled Ocean in the north and contains the Great Chains Archipelago. It is separated from the West Parthus region by the massive Pharakaatus Mountain Chain. East Parthus is divided into several nations of Elderkin and Lesserkin. Few major leylines pass underneath East Parthus, causing the wilderness of the region to be mostly populated by Lesserkin. 

East Partus is a land very much unlike Ciradon. It's countries are vast, yet mostly empty. Long ago ravaged by the horrors of the Ninth Gate War, the continent is home to some of the most desolate and underpopulated regions of Tyrrell. Large areas are filled with nothing but the silence of pine trees and cold snow. Few tribes wander the ground between isolated settlements and cities. Occasionally travelers vanish into the wilderness, never to return. Due to the sheer isolation of the region, East Partus is backwards, socially and technologically. Here, industry is the exception not the norm. 

Thankfully conflict is rare, mostly due to most people's time being spent just getting enough food for the month. But nothing lasts forever, evermore the drums of war, and fires of industry march south. Tempers are beginning to flare, and while the war in the north is over, conflict in the south may just be beginning...
