The Rubber Berry Bush (scientific name; Limosuscoccos) is a type of bush native to the Vosk River basin and its surrounding marshes. The fruit growing on these bushes is extremely bitter and poorly nutritious; however, the real interest of this plant lies in its sap production. Utilizing the abundance of mineral-rich water in the swamps of Voskgardia, the rubber berry trees produce and store bitter latex in their laticifers, which are spread along their branches.
This, combined with the bushes' thorns, serves as a way to ward off predators. However, local humans have learned to harvest the plant by crushing the bushes with machinery and separating the broken wood from the latex, which will then be processed. After harvest, the berries themselves are recollected for growing new bushes, where the same process restarts each plant cycle (one year).
