Jaldalsa, officially the “Imperial Thassolacracy of Jaldalsa”, is an island nation in East Parthus. It  controls several large islands near the center of the Jeweled Ocean. Jaldalsa is inhabited by Jalanan elves, Atesal humans, and Aldalsan merfolk. While the ruling dynasty is elven, Jaldalsa’s governance is noted for its inclusiveness towards the other member races. 

Jaldalsa’s history began with small elven nation of Jalana. A minor power at the start of the Second Age, Jalana would be forever transformed by the Ninth Gate War. As the Forgotten enveloped the Great Chains Archipelago, entire nations of people were forcibly transformed into vicious mutants. Jalana would play a pivotal role in evacuating survivors from the islands through its fleet of living mangrove ships, saving many cultures from extinction. 

Post war Jalana would gain stewardship over many depopulated islands through a royal marriage between the king and a princess from the Three Dynasties. For centuries Jalana would toil away at restoring these corrupted lands while strengthening its bonds to the Lesserkin. Eventually the country would be renamed Jaldalsa to better represent its diverse population. 

Forging alliances with Lesserkin and acting as an arbitrator in diplomatic disputes, Jaldalsa would further leverage its control over several oceanic straits to become a dominant power in East Parthus. 

In the Third Age, Jaldalsa is one of the few Elderkin societies growing in strength. With the traditional Elderkin powers of West Ciradon weakened by the War of the Dawn, Jaldalsa has seized the opportunity to position itself as a new superpower. However this growth is challenged by the emergence of rapid Lesserkin industrialization on the mainland of East Parthus. Jaldalsa would become a founding member of the Pact of Thorns, a formidable military alliance that now threatens to snuff out the fires of industry across the continent.
