In today's lesson we did some life drawing. Life drawing is a good way to improve drawing skills, draw better form, experience different perspectives etc. It also makes you think about the weight and form, it will make you understand and the process of drawing. Additionally, when understanding the form and weight as a 3D artist it can be very useful as a digital animator.
The lesson was to understand the basic structures and how to use it. It was a challenge, I did big lines and the measurement of the body part was uneven.

The task was to go out and practice figure drawing. This really improved my drawing skills. After reading the article about Figure Drawing and 'How to START a figure drawing - making sense of the many methods' it changed my technique and method of how to create the basic structure. I changed the way I hold my pen by putting my index finger on top of the pen and control the pressure, this gave me a lot more confidence. I started out by creating the gesture lines with light marks and eventually put more weight into it. It was an effective technique which helped me create everything quickly and not focus on the details too much. The human form is my weaker side, the results weren't great, but it improved my method and technique how to create the basic human structure. And also get the correct body proportions. The mistakes I can see on the images is the volume and weight of the human body, if I look at the right image the body is leaning forward a bit too much. What I could have done is drawn a center line to keep the body straight and prevent it to lean forward.
