Week 3 - Subjective Approach
SHINDY LEONG
SHINDY LEONG
Today's lesson was about subjective approach which means how we get different aspects of the same character. Also, how the environment affects our expectations on a character. We read the The lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch where we had to make a sketch the describes two of the characters and the environment, Thief maker and Chains. The text did not describe the characters as much, so I had to have my own idea if the two characters. There were a reading and listening part, but it did not change my aspect of the two characters.
I found it a bit difficult to get an image of Chains, since there were not a lot of details about him. I researched some images to give me an idea how the character would look like and his persoanality. 3
The environment made me think of Venice, since the text mentioned canal crossing. The weather is foggy, summer, dark, hot and there is a bay.
