Week 6 - Maya animation

SHINDY LEONG
Continuing from 2D animation to 3D animation we repeated the same weekly tasks. I found the ball animation in Maya more difficult than Toon boom. Although you don't have to add animation on each keyframe, which I found very relieving and speeds up the process.
However, I could have added a squash and stretch into the ball give it some exaggeration and worked on the arc. This would depend on what kind of ball after all.
The 3D walk cycle was easier than the 2D walk cycle in my opinion, I don't like drawing animation due to the long process. Working on the walk cycle in Maya was easier, the reason is the same as the ball animation. Understanding the Maya animation process was difficult at first, after a while I got the hang of it. And I really enjoy doing the 3D animation.
I'm quite happy with my first try of the 3D walk cycle. I could have given him more dynamic since the walk looks quite stiff as he could have leaned a bit forward and added more movement to the hands.
