Week 8 - Lip sync
SHINDY LEONG
SHINDY LEONG
Going back to week 8 -Blake walk cycle I got some help and got the slide on the walk fixed. The problem was that I forgot to adjust the other foot, something I should've thought about. Although I could have adjusted the legs a bit, since the knee sort of pops out. I could have added more movement into the wave as it looks too stiff.

Creating a lip sync in Maya using the audio Blazing Saddles Morons was quite fun but challenging at the same time. I found this more enjoyable since there wasn't any drawing required. Although this worked differently compared to the 2D lip sync, creating the lip sync first is the important part for both 2D and 3D animation. This gives a steadier animation and won't create a bigger mess afterwards. When creating the lip sync in Maya it was important to keep at least 1 or 2 frame ahead of the audio so it would match the audio and not fall behind.
The lip sync doesn't look accurate but this was a fun exercise and a different method compared with the 2D lip sync. The lip sync animation is a bit too slow and I could have adjusted the frames so it would match the audio. Although I learnt something new in Maya and found this fun. Now when I have done some practice with 2D and 3D animation I think I might go for a 3D walk cycle and 3D lip sync.
