Week 4 - Throw Animation
SHINDY LEONG
SHINDY LEONG
For this week I wanted to go deeper into the animation cycles, so I decided to create a throw animation using the reference image below. I was mainly focusing on the movement rather than the art. This is also an anticipation movement, that occurs on the 4th frame. As the character goes from a relaxed- to anticipation pose the body stretches out, raises the feet and rotates backwards. As the body bends, the left arm starts to move forward, and weight will be put on the left leg.
Here is my attempt of the throw animation, the gesture and weight look right. I did struggle with the timing which makes the animation look rough. I didn't add any frames in between which makes the animation look less smooth. This was more of a complex movement which I found challenging as the shoulder, legs, hips, arms and how the body rotates. As the arm moves backward the body will stretch out and legs will straighten out, the arm had a lot of impact on the rest of the body. Compared with the walk cycle it was mainly the legs that was the focus, this one was everything. I still have to work on the timing which I find difficult and struggle with.
