Species

*Loremaster species are obtained through an owner assigned role which proves you have vast knowledge of the world and lore, and are capable of handling the species included.*Some species have subspecies listed. It's extremely important, and compulsory, that on your sheet you say which subspecies your character is.

Images and appearance

When designing a character, their appearance is one of the most important aspects of them. Within Quiazal, we aim to give players as much freedom as is possible when designing your character. So long as your character's appearance matches the criteria of the species you're looking to make, you may use it. You must however ensure that the image you're using makes sense for the species your character is.

What are bio-enhancements?

Bio-Enhancements are abilities specific to the species and are not an optional addition. These are bonus statistics added to a specific species to allow them to function in combat as their species should. Each character may only have ONE bio-enhancement, unless you are playing a species which specifically allows more.

What are the recommended essences, and do I have to use them?

Recommended Essences are NOT the essence you have to use for your species, they are just put in place based on the most common magic type used by that species - a point of inspiration and a place for beginners to start, rather than a hard limit. If you can't decide on an essence and magic class to use for your character, the recommended essences are a good starting point for all species. All characters can use any and all magic types available, and can have any type of essence, or multiple as they level up. Refer to the Essences and Levelling tabs for more information.

Rank caps

You'll notice that some species are locked behind a rank limit. Species locked behind a higher rank than beginner are usually stronger and have more game changing abilities, or are heavily lore relevant and require a hefty understanding of the lore to use. When making mixed races, you must make sure that you're the correct rank to use both of the species. At a rank below the stated rank, you CANNOT make a high rank species.

Hybrids

When creating your character, you may choose to have them be a hybrid. When creating a hybrid, in the species box name the species they most resemble, and in brackets the species they have mixed in. For example, if I were to create a Dragonic foodie, I would place in the species box: Dragonic (Foodie).

When placing in the stats of mixed races, add together the base stats and modifiers of both species and then divide them by two to get the stats which you put into your stats tables.

To obtain a bio-enhancement, roll a coin toss (d2) and assign your two species to a number. Whatever number you land is the bio-enhance you get. Do this same process with the species based proficiencies.

To obtain weaknesses and resistances, choose on weakness and one resistance from either of your chosen species.

To obtain species proficiencies, roll a d100 in the same way you would for bio-enhancement. If the number is below 50, you get the species profs of your first species, and above 50 the second.
