Cryptids are creatures, beings or people with no direct evidence to their existence other than lost pieces of history or written works. While there may not be enough evidence to prove that they exist, there also isn't enough to disprove it either, leading to the vast majority of individuals who indulge in information about them believing or willing them to exist in their imaginations. Most, if not all, are seen to be on an equal level to the Celestial Pantheon.
Chuvo has gone down in history as being the largest beast of the Void of Arsgoetia, a terrible snake-like worm with scales and a single giant mouth, lacking eyes and dripping with clear, corrosive slime. Although having never made an open appearance in recent times, it's believed that hundreds of thousands of years ago, the goddess of Aeden Nyxious would have to regularly fight against this worm to protect the realm.
Chuvo is a burrowing worm who relies not on food but the sustenance of mystical ,powerful fluids. The precious waters within Aeden, the very same ones which keep the realm alive and thriving, could provide him with this sustenance and so he would attempt to drink it over and over again.
It's believed that no matter his attempts, Nyxious always managed to fend off the beast, and without the sustenance of the waters he starved to death. Many believe this is why he hasn't been seen in recent times, but some believe him to still be out there, accumulating as much power as he possibly can from the void to strike again.
A huge, horrifying six legged monster of Far Peaks folklore, it's believed that this creature acted similarly to the Chupacabra, feasting on the animals of farmers. It had an added darker twist though, where after sun fall it was believed to have capture and swallowed unattended children to teach parents a lesson about negligence. A series of disappearances occurring in the valley about 10 years ago could only be connected to the ancient folklore of this beast.
It's gone through many variations through history, though the most well known is of a horse sized beast, extremely long and scaly resembling the rocks of the desert cliffs and adorning 6 varying length legs which it would use to push itself to horrifying speeds. Additionally, multiple large spikes jutting out of his hands, tail and jaw were believed to have been used to spear children like a skewer to make them easier to carry away.
At the sites of numerous disappearances, a consistent, viscous yellow slime has always been found surrounding large footprints, all of which were uneven in size and shape and always seemed to be travelling north.
Ancient, consistent folklore found all around the world depicts Kindred as a large, blind and horned beast, abnormally tall in height and whispy around the base much like a ghost is. The creature has 'a large mouth fit for swallowing even dragons whole' with 'claws the length of flag poles', though these descriptions are believed to be major exaggerations.
His story has infinitely changed throughout history, but the most common one to appear is the one which gave him his famous title of 'Devourer of Essences.' It's been said that he's entirely monochromatic, a creature of black and white, Yin and Yang who aims for nothing more than to create, and then destroy again. Feasting upon magic power is said to give him newfound colour and provide him with a rest from this conflict within himself, but to obtain this power he needs to find a magical source.
Essences, the souls of living beings, prove to be the perfect source of this power and there have been numerous ways which he has eaten their power, from eating the entire essence, to the main method of opening his mouth and sucking out all the power of any nearby essences. There have been no recent, unusual or abnormal events which have any connection to the possibility of this individual, but ancient scripture and paintings have depicted a beast similar with this exact story years before it was first discovered.
Depicted as an unusual, horned chimp like creature, Falminar is an extremely wise and intelligent being of ancient Milanar folklore connected with a sudden feeling of being uplifted or happy. It's also been connected as a spirit of fire, said to be a master manipulator of the art and the one who keeps the winters of the region at bay.
Many who live in Milanar associate Falminar as being their signature creature, their mascot if you will. Depictions of his face and statues of his being can be found all throughout the region, both new and old, all of which depicting varying but similar designs of a chimp with russet fur, curled horns and a long, cat like tail resembling a flickering flame.
Whenever an individual who believes in this creature suddenly feels happy for no apparent reason, they tend to stop whatever they were doing and immediately break down into prayers, thanking Falminar for the sudden uplift and for assisting them with their grief or burdens.
