Glossary

Terms you may find used in the server, but not elsewhere.

Website based Terminology

AdministratorsJust like in the server, administrators are site members who have final authority in site issues and help create and maintain site policy. Administrators, usually our GMs, are the highest ranked staff members.

Draft — A catch-all term for any work in progress. Drafts are not allowed on the main site unless added strictly by an administrator or is under review by a second member of staff, but has been passed by a first.

[core lore] The [core lore] tag is a tag used to signify pages that contain story, development, facts or information that are important to the world or narrative as a whole.

Supplement Page - A supplement page is a page connected to a main information page containing additional lore which would not be found on said page, either for convenience or because it wouldn't fit in. These can be mainly found as areas of influence and landmarks under locations.

Supplement Website - A secondary website linked to our own acting as an informative site based on IC encounters. An entirely in character website, usually used as a connection to an actual IRP website.

Main Addendum - Used to refer to information which has been written by Churrin herself, or is typically high canon to the world.

Player Addendum - Used to refer to information which has been written by another member or contributed to the website, and may not be high canon or highly affective to the story.

In-Server Terminology

Box-Test - A box test is a minor test conducted every time there is a rework of mechanics where players get together in an improv channel and play with how they would work in a roleplay scene for the convenience of admin change. Box tests will happen on average once every 3 months, in between chapters/seasons.

Abstract Porn - A derogatory, non offensive term used among players to refer to an individual who's writing or character is filled with unnecessary or extreme details irrelevant to the character or their story. There is nothing wrong with having an abstract porn character, or having unnecessary details.

Headcanon - Used to refer to player interpretation of the lore rather than the official lore, especially in the absence of said lore being present on the website. This is typically made up or made to be in line with/conceptual to what the missing gaps could be.

Canon - Official lore of the server, world and website, and anything which has been confirmed by the website to be true and a part of the world.

Writerbot - A derogatory, non offensive term used among players to refer to an individual who may write a lot during their scenes, has a lot of applied characters, or is known for writing extreme amounts in their posts. There is nothing wrong with writing a lot in your posts, or characters, 'nor is there anything wrong with having a lot of characters.

QL - An initialism of the server, used more often than not in conversation when directly mentioning the server.

Quiche Licker - A backronym used to jokingly mock individuals who misspell the name of the server, E.G. ''What does Quiche Licking have to do with the server?''

World Terminology

Fizzle - A term used to describe when a spell, potion or ability fails, falls apart, isn't cast or causes no effects to an individual. This is usually a failed attempt, rather than a common attempt.

Leech - A term used to describe an individual who follows another around to drink their magic power, information or whatever else they may have that could prove to be precious. Normally, however, the individual doesn't know they're there.
