Many different materials are found often in abundance in Quiazal's world, from rocks and crystals to basic minerals and compounds useful for building, creating, brewing and just about anything else you can think of. This page details any important materials and outliers you may find within the world.
Xacatallite, a rich crystalline ore found within the depths of numerous crystal filled caves surrounding any and all regions of the world. This unusual crystal ore develops within an ashen coloured, crumbling rock, and when cracked open reveals growths of Xacatl crystal in the centre.
This crystal is well known for the fain glow it holds, as well as the unusual fluids it seems to be filled with. This purple liquid contains the secret to the crystals power, an unusual rapid growth serum called Xacatl Extract obtained by melting down the crystals to break it open. When exposed to oxygen, this extract glows a hot white colour with a gentle purple rim. This is a key component in Xacatl Essence of all three tiers, used in the excessive growth of crops. This substance gives the crystal a rich purple-red pleochroism.
Use of this essence on an organic sentient being proves to be futile as it has no effects on the individual. It does however feel warm to touch. The crystal itself, when not used for its extract, is used for many different forms of decoration and is sometimes cut for rings, earrings and jewel pieces on weapons and armour.
Dark star is a strange, oreless crystal which grows around the borders of portal frames, ancient rifts and any other method of transportation through a rift, portal or wormhole. This crystal is considered to be a species of quartz, growing as large oxygen and silicon based tetrahedra.
This crystal can be ground and cut into small pieces for use in alembics, or can be used as decorative status. The Quartz is considered to resemble power among void users or individuals familiar with the alternate dimensions.
It is UV reactive, and although colourless when away from UV light, under the sun or rich artificial UV light it will become vibrant pin
A bright red volcanic crystal, and Blue Gleam's alternate twin, Bruckot crystal is a hot crystal which grows only in arson biomes, around volcanic regions and deposits of magma. This crystal is extremely popular for its hard makeup and shine, useful for the decoration of, and even creation of sturdy armour pieces. It's especially popular in Neverwinter, though many duds have also been sold of different crystals which look similar to it, such as Rhodochrosite.
Grinding this crystal down into a powder or melting it up and using it as a component in potions usually harbours effects of transformations within the individual, turning their body into something more fire based. It's an especially key component in enchanted magma, a transformation potion which turns the individual into a flame elemental.
Unlike it's sister crystal, Bruckot does not have corruption preventing or healing properties, and is entirely flame based.
An extremely bright blue crystal ore and the sister crystal to Brucket, Blue Gleam is an unusual, ice based crystal which forms at the peaks of the highest mountains, or in the depths of frosted caverns and forests. This unusual crystal is most renowned for its corruption prevention against Drippy Corruption, and is sold as an edible medication.
Although it cannot cure Drippy corruption, consuming this crystal as a powder or as small crushable supplements can temporarily pull back the corruption, converting the corrupted individual into what they were before the corruption swallowed them. It must be consumed daily to keep the corruption at bay.
The raw crystal is much harder than the supplements provided to Drippy corruptors, and feels cold to the touch, with a constant cold steam rising from its surface.
Waystone is an unusual green stone which forms within large boulders in all regions of the world. Often confused for Jadeite, this stone is a teleportation stone with the ability to remember key marked locations and transport the individual holding said stone to that location, like a recall of sorts.
It is most commonly used in special pieces of teleportation and recall jewellery and charms, sometimes even implemented deep into the grooves of armours. Due to the dangers of teleportation against physics, Waystones are limited and cannot persistently transport an individual back and forth. While they do protect the individual during teleportation, constant usage may still tear and rupture a person.
It sells on average for 300-400 gold per solid gram, 100-200 per ground gram.
Xenronite, dubbed ‘The Time Crystal,’ is a powerful crystal of a light blue colouration, which has been observed to shift colours to a deeper blue when inactive. The Time Crystal was created when a mass amount of Tysorion followers gave up their lives in the pursuit of his power, trying to gain more and more for themselves. Their bodies were destroyed by the time powers given to them, and that leftover power compressed into one place, creating a crystal that holds pure time energy.
The crystal has multiple uses, but currently it is mainly used by the few time keepers left so that they can amplify the powers they use. The crystal can amplify one person’s time powers, and grants a direct connection to Tysorion. While possible, breaking such a crystal would release a wave of time energy that would be sure to bring about a doomsday event.
The crystal is priceless to those who understand what it is capable of, but to those who are unaware, it would likely look like a completely normal stone. Currently, only one exists, and to recreate one would take the remaining population of timekeepers, and is such practically impossible to do.
Dragonsteel is a tough, silvery orange or light blue coloured steel created in a dragonfire forge, a large forge powered by dragon's breath. This is done by smelting down steel ingots using the dragon's breath, which in turn infuses the power of the breath into these ingots, converting it into Dragonsteel.
It can be used in many different components, but is typically placed into sturdy armours, weapons and used as casings and bases for jewelleries. It's extremely tough, though changes depending on whether an ice or fire dragon was responsible for its creation.
Fire dragons provide heat resistant dragonsteel, and ice cold resistant.
