Scorchers

The dominant and terrifying creatures of Neverwinter, Scorchers are three horned reptilian elementals with a thirst for power and blood, allowing no one to stand in their ways. Working in excellence through sheer brute force and magical capability, they are feared by all species, even the most powerful, and are equally respected.

Before creating a scorcher, read through these documents:

Magnartus (Fire)

Magnartus are the most common of the scorcher species, and the first in the line of heat based scorchers. These scorchers are fire users, and their pipes act like flamethrowers, releasing huge blasts of flames. Their natural body temperature is, when resting, about 50° celsius and as such can easily withstand a cold location, but are more prone to ice attacks than many other heat based scorchers.

Their horns, unlike many other scorchers, are made of a smooth, black ivory, and typically a Magnartus will have three. Their pipes are unusually made of this same material, as are the spikes on their shoulders. Just like any other scorcher, their skin is slightly scaly, but it isn't obvious from a distance. Unlike hotter species of scorcher, their outfits can withstand their heat a bit better, and so do not have to wear clothing made of dragon scale, chitin or any heat withstanding materials. Their veins are made of firefrit, a form of 'liquid fire' which flows and looks just like ignited gasoline.

Whenever they exhale, blackened smoke leaves their nose and mouth - and they use this often to their advantage as a form of intimidation against most targets. Black smoke isn't the most welcoming of sights, especially not when it's coming from a creature of their size. The same smoke comes from their pipes at a constant, passive rate.

Due to their heated insides, it's completely safe for a Magnartus to eat meat raw. Their insides are so hot that anything which could pose a threat to them is immediately burned out. Despite this, they have a preference for crunching on fire crystals.

Magnoruta (Magma)

Magnorutas are a less common, extremely hot species of scorcher based around metal and magma. These scorchers are the best pyrotechnics and often do metalwork for Neverwinter due to their extreme resistance to the heat. Their internal resting temperature is 70-100° celsius, but can increase to the temperature of the surface of the sun should they bring it to that point. The hotter their insides, the more powerful their blasts.

Their horns and pipes are constructed from a smooth, naturally formed metal, and are coated in unusual, bioluminescent spikes and segments. Their horns are extremely hard to break, so hard in fact that even the scorchers themselves tend to be careless when using them in combat. They can deliver extremely punishing blows, and even more punishing i when they use the extremely sharp tips of their three horns as a spearing weapon - which happens more often than any other attack.

Their pipes are heavily reinforced to handle the extreme magma blasts that exits them, most of these blasts having a range of between 5-20 meters, depending on the power they put behind it. When they exhale, white steam comes out of their nose and mouth, and they regularly hiss steam pressure out of their pipes to ensure survival. Should they be incapable of hissing out steam, it's likely they'll die from the internal explosion of pressure.

They're considered to be the physically strongest of all the Scorcher species, being well known for their extreme ability to stand their ground in a physical fight, fists or no fists. Along with this, their claws are tipped with naturally formed, sharp metal claws, which they use to provide some severe slashes and piercing blows.

Ischendia (Ice)

Ischendia Scorchers are the coldest of the scorcher species, originating from the frozen peaks of Neverwinter. Their naturally low body temperature of average -70° Celcius means that they can withstand most hot places perfectly fine, however attacks from heat based characters can still prove fatal to them.

Their horns are made of pure blue ice, liquid ice blood running through their veins, allowing them to use extremely cold attacks on many of their enemies, making them especially effective against demons. Unlike most other scorchers, they have a fairly balanced temper and are much more calm and relaxed, however their rage is much like a Magnartus or Magnoruta in the sense that they’ll charge and snort and attempt to blast people with their pipes.

Whenever they exhale, cold residue comes out of their nose and mouths in clouds of steam, which when breathed on a glass surface can freeze it up and create patterns. This same substance comes out when they hiss their pipes or snort out of their nose in an angered display. (Refer to the document for more detail)

Standing on average about 6ft tall (7-10ft with horns), Ischendias prefer to stick around Neverwinter, however will explore in search of other cold territory too.

Ischimeia (Freezeflame)

Burning hot and freezing cold, the Ischimeia scorcher is an incredible hybrid between a flame type and a cold or water type scorcher, most commonly being that of the Magnoruta and the Crysulis. These extremely dangerous individuals are a harlequin specimen, double halved with one half being burning hot magma, the other solid, freezing ice.

Individuals of this species feature three horns and two large pipes, being coloured and texture accordingly based on the elemental side they're on. Each of the pipes are styled differently to handle the extreme variation of temperatures from within the individuals' blood, and are also designed for varying shot styles, though not every Ischimeia uses this to their advantage.

Typically they use combinations of thei8r attacks and elements both for the purposes of intimidation and for solid attacks, with the most common style they often use being freezing their targets before melting them down within their magma. Passively, it can hurt to touch either side of an Ischimeia, with one side causing people to get stuck to the cold ice, and the other being much akin to sticking your hand within pure molten rock.

They can only be born as hybrids. Any reproduction from an Ischimeia to conceive another Ischimeia must be done with another of one of their opposing elements, only fire or ice. Any other scorcher will make a hybrid of their dominant elements and themselves.

The steam the exert from their noses, while still hot in temperature, can cause frost to form on glass and can briefly freeze any water they blow on.

Crysulis (Permafrost)

The highest tier of the cold scorchers, the Crysulis (more commonly referred to as the Permafrost scorcher) uses absolute sub zero within its elements. Often deemed to be the strangest of the base elemental scorchers, these individuals have a texture much like solid wet ice, or like glass, though they cannot shatter and do not show struggles with mobility.

Their extreme cold causes them to steam much like dry ice, with this steam always collecting within their surroundings much like it does any other scorcher, though far more blocking to perceptive activities. The steam is often a white to clear turquoise colour, thick, and cold, capable of completely disorienting both themselves and anyone around them should the area they're in not be ventilated well enough.

Their colour schemes are entirely hues of white, light blue and pale green with no other colours ever being exhibited in Crysulis specimens, not even hybrids. Any species with Crysulis in its family line will immediately be trapped with such a colour combo, which is thought to have originated from their icy background for camouflage.

Although the most dangerous, with some of the most shattering physical blows capable of being delivered by any of the scorcher species, Crysulis scorchers are considered to be one of the most respectful, just like the Ischendia species.

They harbour 7 horns, with the three main classic ones and the two far back, much thinner ones. They personally tend to not consider these a part of their horn crown. They also have two, completely transparent glass pipes.

Zarimagnus (Yellow electricity)

Zarimagnus are some of the loudest, most obnoxious of all of the scorcher species, and for good reason. With blood composed entirely of electromagnetic plasma and excursion points made entirely of copper, gold and silver, they are always bursting with energy- figuratively and literally. They spend all of their time quite literally bouncing and zapping around, and are often accidentally destructive as a result to this. They are especially dangerous towards individuals made of technology, especially Onotech.

Most Zarimagnus develop an exceptional talent for one thing they find particular attraction to. This can be music, technological development, combat, art- anything which immediately draws their attention at a young age. Their talents and love for these subjects can develop as early as 5 years old, at the same time they develop control of their electrical charges.

All Zarimagnus have three horns and two pipes, with all of them resembling tesla coils. They're always consistently made of copper, silver, gold or all three, capable of exerting extreme electrical charges. Passively, electricity will constantly crack between them or follow the movements of whoever places they hand near it, much like a plasma ball.

Their passive electrical charge is the highest of all the Zaris, which causes their hair to stand up, unless it's wet. Water, unless pure, cannot harm them.

Zarirevus (Purple Electricity)

The darkest and the most calm of the three known Zari species, the Zarirevus, known as the purple electricity or storm scorcher, are dark and brooding individuals usually calm and collected until their time comes to strike an enemy, much like predators on the prowl. They are usually nocturnal, or prefer dark environments despite it providing them with no particular benefit, and absolutely despise other scorcher species, especially the Zarimagnus.

Instead of the distinct copper, silver and gold of the Zarimagnus, Zarirevus are always silver with some form of black, dark grey or gold tinge within metal armour which naturally coats their bodies alongside whatever else they may wear. These metal constructs, along with their five horns and four pipes, allow their distinctive, purple coloured electricity to constantly crack around their entire form.

Unlike the Zarimagnus, their electricity doesn't burn, 'nor does it deal direct electrical damage, but instead acts more like a plasma compound. It instead melts things it shocks, sets them on fire and cause radioactive explosions, making their shocks some of the most lethal of their known kind. They are, however, the hardest to control, and typically these scorchers only perfect the practise when they reach their later mature stages, after lots of training.

Magnictaro (Nitro-Glycerine)

Huge, stoic and grim, Magnictaro are some of the hugest scorchers there are, both in natural stature and in the size of their excursion biology. Challenging even the most powerful of scorchers for the throne of the strongest, these individuals are quite literally living nuclear reactors powered by raw strength and nitro-glycerine compounds, a hybrid between a magnoruta and a nictarius scorcher.

Along with their radioactive background, Magnictaro scorchers are like steam engines, absolute power houses with some of the most terrifying attacks known to scorcher kind. While most scorchers focus on concentrated blasts of their unique elements, these scorchers are most at home creating huge explosions and trails of fire.

Featuring four unique pipes, their upper pipes act like hot blowtorches with blue flames, while their lower pipes release huge blasts of bright green nitro-glycerine which they then ignite and explode with their upper ones. All of their other bodily fluids in the form of tears, saliva and most uniquely, feigned sweat, are also a nitro-glycerine compound.

Their explosions can change colour both depending on what the scorcher wishes the colour to be, and what the intensity of the explosion is, with cherry red being the most intense, and yellow being the least intense, through the entire colour spectrum.

Crimetekka (Cosmic)

Placeholder by Churrin

Crimetekka scorchers are the strangest of the scorcher species, masters of rift magic and probably the most recognisable. Their hair is well known for being flowing spirals of Galassia energy, with an appearance that makes it look like the inside of a galaxy (Think of an End portal texture.)

Unlike most scorchers, most Crimetekka individuals don't have an unusual internal temperature, however their blood does. Their blood is made of starfire, more commonly referred to as ''Liquid Galaxy'' when in drink form, and reaches extreme temperatures, making it untouchable to most hands.

Their horns and pipes are made of a smooth, almost glassy material, and look glittery on the surface - though some Crimetekkas have simple metal pipes. They usually have five horns - one on the forehead, two on the side of the head and two on the back of the head, and four pipes - two which reach down their back and two which go over their hips and into their stomachs. These pipes can be used in the same way all other scorcher pipes are used, and release blasts of Starfire. Their horns are much more flimsy than most scorcher's, and so Crimetekka have to use a bit more caution when sparring with them.

Crimetekka are well known for their connection to the void between space and time, most, if not all, individuals having the ability to make rifts directly to said void by tearing them open in the air using their claws.
