Similar to the Royal Anthem "God Save the Queen" of United Kingdom, Woodlandia's Royal Anthem "Long Live the Prince" is also traditionally played in the presence of the monarch. The sovereign and his or her spouse are saluted with the entire composition (repeated 3x), while other members of the royal family who are entitled to royal salute (along with their spouses) receive the song just once.

"Long Live the Prince!" is traditionally played following the accession of a new monarch. The seemingly contradictory phrase is used to simultaneously announce the death of the previous monarch and assure the public of continuity by saluting the new monarch. The song is a play on the phrase "The Prince is Dead, Long Live the Prince!", or simply "Long Live the Prince!".

The Anthem is sometimes played or sung together with the National Anthem, "The Woodlandia Salute", at private and public events organized by groups such as the Government of Woodlandia, police services, and loyal groups. When played as a military royal salute, the words are not to be sung, with the music purely instrumental.

In sports in which the the Principality of Woodlandia competes, "Long Live the Prince!" is used to represent anyone or any team that comes from the Principality, tho the music is purely instrumental and no words are sung.
