Royal Residences
Royal Residences
Woodlandia royal residences are palaces, castles and houses occupied by members of the Woodlandia royal family in the Principality of Woodlandia. Some, like Stoner Castle and Liberty Castle, are owned by the Crown; i.e. ownership by the Woodlandia monarch is by virtue of his or her position as Sovereign Prince or Princess, while others like the Olympia House and the Winter Cabin are personally owned and will be inherited and passed on to future generations. Some royal residences remain in irregular use for royal occasions like, the Royal Freedom Suite, while others, may no longer function as royal residences altogether like, Wallace Government House.
The royal residences enjoy certain legal privileges: for example, there is an exemption from levying duty on alcoholic beverages sold in the bars of the royal residences occupied by working royals or the immediate family members of the current monarch. There are even exemptions from health and safety legislation.
When certain residences are not occupied, they may be rented to tourist. The proceeds are donated to the Principality of Woodlandia by the monarch. Occupied royal residences are cared for and maintained by the Ministry of the Royal Household.
