Throughout its history, the nation of the Principality of Woodlandia has periodically undergone changes resulting in a new era. A new era typically forms when the direction and focus of the government significantly shifts, often resulting in unexpected changes. Since its founding the Government of the Principality of Woodlandia has experienced two eras of change, each with its own unique history.

I. Freedom Era - 12 March 2019 - 21 August 2019

II. Political Era - 21 August 2019 - Present

I. Freedom Era

The Freedom Era officially began on 12 March 2019, when the Principality of Woodlandia was declared a Sovereign Nation separate of Canada, under the command of His Royal Highness Hereditary Sovereign Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia.

The capital of the Principality of Woodlandia is Freedom, in honor of the patron St. Wallace. To further honor Saint Wallace in his struggle for independence and freedom from the English and similarly Woodlandia's struggle for freedom from English ruled Canada, it is HRH The Prince's belief in freedom and fairness for all Woodlandia citizens, thus began the freedom era.

Lasting for just over five months, the Freedom Era officially ended on 21 August 2019, after unexpected political shifts in government.

II. Political Era

The Political Era officially began on 21 August 2019, when the focus of the new government shifted from developing itself, to engaging in furthering diplomatic foreign relations with other nations. With the first and previous era (Freedom Era) lasting just a little over five months, unexpected political shifts in government brought on a new era that saw a rise in many foreign policies develop with other nations. Under the command of His Royal Highness Hereditary Sovereign Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia, the nation began to grow acceptance as a legitimate nation by other micro-national states, many of which accept and recognize the shirley as the national currency of Woodlandia.

MARCH

• March 12 - The Principality was founded, and proclaimed an independent sovereign state separate of Canada with a hereditary constitutional monarchy through a Proclamation of Independence by the current head of state, HRH Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia. On this same day, the Prince declared March 12 to be an annual government holiday throughout the Principality of Woodlandia and proclaimed the day as "Founder's Day".

• March 14 - The Woodlandia National Anthem was written and adopted by the Sovereign, HRH Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia.

• March 17 - The Royal Bank of Woodlandia was established on March 17, 2019 by HRH Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia.

• March 17 - The Royal Woodlandia Mint (R.W.M.) was established on 17 March 2019 by HRH Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia.

• March 17 - The Royal Woodlandia Post (R.W.P.) Corporation was established on 17 March 2019 by HRH Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia.

AUGUST

• August 21 - The first official crime was committed in the Principality of Woodlandia.

• August 21 - The Royal Knights of the Woodlandia Guard (R.K.W.G.) was established on August 21, 2019 by His Royal Highness Sovereign Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia.

SEPTEMBER

• September 21 - The Principality of Woodlandia's first Minister of Wildlife, Forestry and Fisheries Minister becomes the first Prime of the Principality of Woodlandia.

• September 23 - The National Flag of the Principality of Woodlandia was designed and gifted by HRH Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia and proclaimed official on September 23, 2019. On this same day, the Prince declared September 23 to be an annual national holiday throughout the Principality of Woodlandia.

OCTOBER

• October 21 - The Principality of Woodlandia's first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Ronyson becomes the first Official President Minister.

2020

MARCH

• March 12 - The official Coat of Arms of Woodlandia was designed and gifted to the Principality of Woodlandia by HRH Prince Shawn of the Principality of Woodlandia on 12 March 2020, exactly one year after its establishment. On the same day, the Coat of Arms was officially adopted by HRH Prince Shawn as the official Coat of Arms of the Principality of Woodlandia.

2022

• JANUARY

• January 12 - The Republic of New Atlantis is reinstated by HRH Sovereign Prince Shawn of Woodlandia and officially declared the Second Republic of New Atlantis, the Principality of Woodlandia's first overseas dominion.

• MARCH

• March - The Principality of Woodlandia opens its first Official Embassy abroad in Turin, Italy.

• Unknown date - HM King Kenneth becomes the first King of the Kingdom of Ardania.

2000

NOVEMBER

• November 11 - HM King Kenneth dies from Cancer.

• November 11 - Crown Prince Derek is crowned HM King of Ardania.

2006

APRIL

• April 22 - HM King Derek of Ardania abdicates his throne to marry a commoner, his older sister Princess Royal Tracy becomes Queen of Ardania.

• April 22 - Following the abdication of her brother, HM King Derek of Ardania, who abdicated his throne to marry a commoner, Princess Royal Tracy becomes Queen of Ardania.

2017

JUNE

• June 26 - HM Queen Tracy of Ardania officially abdicates due to ill health, her son Crown Prince Shawn is proclaimed King Shawn of Ardania on his 30th birthday.
