1. History
The tradition of celebrating the day begins in the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including the saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed. Many Halloween traditions originated from ancient Celtic harvest festivals.
The first Halloween of the Principality of Woodlandia was founded on October 31, 2019 by His Royal Highness Sovereign Prince Shawn of Woodlandia.
2. Declaration of Halloween
Halloween was proclaimed a public holiday by HRH Prince Shawn on the day of its institution on October 31, 2019, and took effect "upon, from and after" October 31.
3. Tradition
The principal activities that generally take place on Halloween include trick-or-treating, attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, as well as watching horror films.
