Etymology

The word 'Olympia' derives from the feminine form of the Greek word Olympios (Olympus, the mountain in northern Greece that was considered home of the gods in Greek mythology) and is also the site of the ancient Olympic games. 

Earldom of Olympia

As Sovereign of Woodlandia, Prince Shawn created an Earldom from the surrounding free lands of Woodlandia and named it the "Earldom of Olympia". On the same day,  June 26, 2019, Prince Shawn added to the Nobility Act 2019, stating that every Earl and Countess of Olympia must be a member of the royal family, and furthermore, an heir of the current reigning Sovereign Prince or Princess or reserve the title for him/herself.

Principality of Woodlandia

On the same day, June 26, 2019, the Prince's birthday, the Earldom was officially amalgamated with the Principality of Woodlandia to form the current Principality of Woodlandia.

Borough of Woodlandia

Upon amalgamation of the Earldom with Woodlandia, Olympia joined the Principality as one of the three boroughs that make up the nation.

The town theme of 'Olympia' is centered around a combination of both ancient Greek and ancient Roman (or Greco-Roman) influences, including the languages, architecture, cultures, governments and religions of the era.
