The Woodlandia National Sport Federation (WNSF) was established and proclaimed the national governing body for all sport activities in Woodlandia on 2019.

The Woodlandia National Sport Federation (WNSF) or Woodlandia Sport is the national governing body for all sport activities in the Principality of Woodlandia. Woodlandia Sport provides leadership and funding to help ensure a strong Woodlandia sport system which enables Woodlandia citizens to progress from early sport experiences to high performance excellence.

Whether you are a high-performance athlete or sport is simply part of your active lifestyle, our sport system offers opportunities for everyone to get involved, get fit and excel in sport. The Government of Woodlandia supports our athletes and many of the national organization that make up our sport system through Woodlandia Sport programs and policies.

Woodlandia Sport serves many important functions, including:

• governing all aspects of a sport within Woodlandia;

• managing their high performance programs;

• selecting and managing their national teams;

• implementing national initiatives to develop and promote their sport;

• sanctioning national level competitions and tournaments;

• providing professional development for coaches and officials in their sport; and,

• proposing and supporting international competitions in Woodlandia.

The Woodlandia Sport program supports our sport system at the national level, provide financial assistance to our high-performance athletes, advance the objectives of the Woodlandia Sport Policy, and help Woodlandia organizations host sport events that create opportunities for Woodlandia citizens to compete at the national and international level.

The Woodlandia Athlete Assistance Program is aimed at developing athletes and coaches at the highest international levels at major international sporting events, enabling athletes to combine their sport and academic or working careers while training intensively in pursuit of world-class performances, and advancing interests and values throughout Woodlandia and abroad. The program also aims to enhance the development of sport excellence and the international profile of sport organizations by assisting sport organizations to host the Woodlandia Games and international sport events in Woodlandia.

The common thread between the governments, institutions and organizations that are part of our sport system is the Woodlandia Sport Policy. The current Woodlandia Sport Policy, effective from 2019 to 2029, sets a direction for all government institutions and organizations to make sure sport has a positive impact on the lives of Woodlandia citizens, our communities and our country.

Acts & Regulations

The mission of Woodlandia Sport is to enhance opportunities for Woodlandia citizens to participate and excel in sport, through policy leadership and strategic investments in the sport system. Woodlandia Sport has produced policies, in conjunction with Government of Woodlandia sport acts and regulations.

Objectives of the Woodlandia Sport Policy

Through five broad objectives, the Policy aims to increase the number and diversity of Woodlandia citizens participating in sport:

• Introduction to Sport: Woodlandia citizens have the fundamental skills, knowledge and attitudes to participate in organized and unorganized sport.

• Recreational Sport: Woodlandia citizens have the opportunity to participate in sport for fun, health, social interaction and relaxation.

• Competitive Sport: Woodlandia citizens have the opportunity to systematically improve and measure their performance against others in competition in a safe and ethical manner.

• High Performance Sport: Woodlandia citizens are systematically achieving world-class results at the highest levels of international competition through fair and ethical means.

• Sport for Development: Sport is used as a tool for social and economic development, and the promotion of positive values at home and abroad.

Woodlandia Sport also has a number of special initiatives to advance the goals of the Woodlandia Sport Policy. Woodlandia Sport programs are based on Long-Term Athlete development. Funding for targeted excellence is allocated based on the expert recommendations of the Minister of Commerce, Industry & Sports.

As the single largest investor in Woodlandia’s amateur sport system, the Government of Woodlandia encourages sport participation and physical activity through strategic investments in Woodlandia's sport system. These investments include funding to help children and youth and under-represented groups (such as persons with a disability or persons with limited funds) through a number of activities managed by Woodlandia Sport. Through Woodlandia Sport, it develops programs and policies to help the sport system meet the needs of Woodlandians. Occasionally the private and not-for-profit sectors, also provide programs and funding that support participation and excellence in sport.

• The Woodlandia National Sport Federation is the only organization in Woodlandia which oversees all sporting events.
