## 1. Introduction

Solar Energy Tools ("we", "our", "the app") is a free, ad-supported collection of solar energy calculators together with a Yield Log & ROI Tracker for recording solar production, electricity bills, savings and payback. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.

By using Solar Energy Tools, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

## 2. Information We Collect

### 2.1 Information You Provide

All entries you make are stored **locally on your device** only:

- Solar system and project details you enter into calculators

- Daily/weekly solar yield (kWh) log entries

- Electricity/grid bill amounts and system cost

- Electricity tariff settings (flat or tiered rates, net-metering buyback rate, currency)

- Notes attached to entries

The app has **no user accounts and no cloud sync** — this data never leaves your device except when you deliberately export and share it (see 2.4).

### 2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Through the third-party SDKs below, limited data is collected:

- Device information (model, OS version) for crash reporting

- App usage/analytics events (screens and features used)

- Advertising identifier and approximate location, used by Google AdMob to serve ads

### 2.3 Location

The app requests location permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) only for the **solar irradiance and tilt-angle calculators**, to estimate solar potential for your position. Location is used on-device for these calculations and is not stored on our servers. You can decline the permission and enter coordinates manually.

### 2.4 Data Export and Sharing (User-Initiated)

You can export your yield and ROI history as a CSV file. Export uses Android's secure FileProvider and the system share sheet — **you** choose where the file goes (email, cloud drive, etc.). The app does not upload exported files anywhere automatically.

## 3. How We Use Your Information

- Provide the calculators and store your projects, yield logs, bills and tariffs on your device

- Show your production, savings and payback charts

- Send an optional local daily reminder to log your yield

- Display advertisements (the app is free and ad-supported)

- Diagnose crashes and improve app stability and performance

## 4. Data Storage and Security

### 4.1 Local Storage

- Your calculations, projects, yield logs, bills and tariff settings are stored locally in an on-device database (Room) and app preferences

- No personal data is transmitted to or stored on our servers

### 4.2 Security Measures

- All network communication performed by third-party SDKs uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

- The app itself maintains no user account and no remote database

## 5. Permissions We Use

The POST_NOTIFICATIONS and RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED permissions are used **only** for the on-device reminder feature. They do not collect or transmit any data.

## 6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

- The app is free and shows advertisements served by Google AdMob

- AdMob may use device identifiers and approximate location for ad personalization

- You can opt out of personalized ads via device Settings > Google > Ads

- On first launch, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your ad-consent choice

## 7. Children's Privacy

Solar Energy Tools is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.

## 8. Your Rights and Choices

### 8.1 Access and Control

- All your data is visible within the app and stored only on your device

- You can edit or delete any entry at any time

- You can export your yield/ROI data as CSV for your own records

### 8.2 Data Deletion

- Deleting entries in the app removes them from your device

- Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data permanently

### 8.3 Notifications

- The yield reminder is optional; disable it in Settings or in your device notification settings at any time

### 8.4 Ad Preferences

- Opt out of personalized ads via device settings (Settings > Google > Ads)

## 9. GDPR Compliance (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your data. Because the app stores your entries only on your device, you exercise most of these rights directly within the app. For ad-related processing, the app uses Google's UMP to obtain consent. ## 10. Data Retention

We keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy.

- **All of your entries stay on your device.** We operate no server for this data and never receive a copy of it, so there is nothing for us to retain. Your data is kept until you delete the individual entry, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes all of it from the device.

- **Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)** — automatically deleted after **90 days**.

- **Analytics data (Firebase Analytics)** — retained in aggregated, non-identifying form for a maximum of **14 months**, then automatically deleted.

- **Support emails** — if you contact us, your message is retained for up to **24 months** after your enquiry is resolved, then deleted.

## 11. Data Deletion — How to Delete Your Data

You can delete your data at any time.

**Delete individual entries**

Open any entry in the App and tap Delete. It is removed immediately from the device.

**Uninstall**

Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.

**Request deletion by email**

If you cannot access the App, or you want written confirmation that your data has been erased, email us at **muhammadilyas15@gmail.com** with the subject line **"Solar Energy Tools – Data Deletion Request"**. We will verify the request, delete all associated data, and confirm by email **within 30 days**. There is no charge for this.

## 12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" above and posting the revised policy at the hosted URL. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
