**Effective Date:** June 24, 2026
**Developer:** Muhammad Ilyas (Mobilia Apps)

## 1. Introduction
Ostomy Care Log ("we", "our", "the app") is a private, brand-neutral personal diary for people living with a colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy. It lets you log pouch changes, peristomal skin condition, output, leaks, supply inventory, and hospital or stoma nurse visits. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the app.
Ostomy Care Log is designed to be **local-first and private by default**. The app does **not** require an account, does **not** ask you to sign in, and does **not** upload your logs, health data, or photos to any server. Everything you record stays on your device.
By using Ostomy Care Log, you agree to the data practices described in this policy.
## 2. Information We Collect
### 2.1 Information You Provide (stored only on your device)
You may enter health-related and personal information into the app, including:
- **Ostomy profile:** ostomy type, stoma size, surgery date, and your default pouch-change interval (stored in the app's local preferences).
- **Pouch change log:** date and time, wafer/product SKU, wear hours, leak flag, reason, and notes.
- **Supply inventory:** brand, product SKU, category, quantity, low-stock threshold, and refill cycle.
- **Peristomal skin log:** DET score components (Discolouration, Erosion, Tissue overgrowth) on the 0–30 scale.
- **Output log:** volume, consistency, colour, and blockage flags.
- **Leak event log:** severity, suspected cause, and notes.
- **Hospital / stoma nurse (WOCN) visit log:** date, visit type, reason, provider, and outcome.
- **Optional photos:** stoma and peristomal skin reference photos you choose to add from your camera or gallery.
All of the above is **sensitive health and body-related information**. It is stored **only in a local database and private storage on your device**. We never receive, transmit, or have access to it.
### 2.2 Information Collected Automatically
The app itself does not collect analytics or usage profiles. However, the third-party advertising service we use (Google AdMob) and the consent platform (Google UMP) may collect limited technical data such as a device advertising identifier, approximate device information, and ad-interaction data in order to serve and measure advertisements. See Section 5.
We do **not** use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or any cloud backend in this app.
## 3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you enter solely to provide the app's core features on your device:
- Display your pouch-change schedule, days since your last change, and next-change-due reminders.
- Track supply stock and trigger low-stock and reorder reminders.
- Show peristomal skin (DET) trends, output patterns, and leak frequency.
- Keep a timeline history of your visits and events.
- Generate PDF/CSV reports that **you** choose to export and share.
- Send local reminder notifications you enable.
Your health data is never used for advertising and is never transmitted off your device by us.
## 4. Data Storage and Security
### 4.1 Local Storage
- All your logs are stored in a local database (`ostomy_care_log.db`) on your device.
- Your ostomy profile and app preferences are stored in local app preferences.
- Photos you add are stored in the app's **private internal storage** (`getFilesDir()/photos/`) and are accessible only to this app.
- There is **no cloud storage, no cloud backup, and no synchronisation** of your data in this app.
### 4.2 Security Measures
- Your data resides in the app's private, sandboxed storage area, which is protected by the Android operating system from access by other apps.
- Because your data never leaves your device through the app, it is not exposed to network interception by us.
- We recommend you protect your device with a screen lock and keep your operating system up to date.
## 5. Data Sharing
### 5.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal or health information to third parties. Your health logs and photos are never shared with advertisers or marketing partners.
### 5.2 Third-Party Services
The app integrates the following Google services. These services do **not** receive your ostomy logs, health data, or photos.
| Service | Purpose | Data Accessed | Privacy Policy |
|---------|---------|--------------|----------------|
| Google AdMob | Advertising (free tier) | Device advertising ID, approximate device info, ad interactions | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) | Ad-consent management | Consent preferences | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Google Play Billing | Process the one-time premium purchase | Purchase token, purchase status | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
### 5.3 Ad Personalization
- Free-tier users see advertisements served by Google AdMob.
- AdMob may use a device advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads.
- In regions where it is required, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent before any personalized advertising.
- You can opt out of personalized ads via your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
- Purchasing the one-time premium upgrade removes all advertisements.
## 6. Health Data
### 6.1 Health Information
Ostomy Care Log collects sensitive health-related information that you enter, including ostomy type, pouch-change records, peristomal skin (DET) scores, output details, leak events, hospital/stoma nurse visits, and optional stoma/skin photos.
### 6.2 Health Data Protection
- Health data is stored **only locally on your device**.
- Health data is **never** uploaded to any server, never synced to the cloud, and never shared with advertisers or marketing partners.
- We (the developer) have no access to your health data.
- Health data is never used for advertising purposes.
### 6.3 Medical Disclaimer
Ostomy Care Log is a personal logging and organisation tool and is **NOT a medical device or a source of medical advice**. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or monitor any disease or medical condition. Always follow the guidance of your stoma care nurse or doctor, and seek urgent medical care for severe leaks, blockage, bleeding, or skin breakdown.
## 7. Photos and Images
- Photos are captured or selected **only when you explicitly choose** to add them to an entry, from your camera or gallery.
- Photos are stored in the app's **private internal storage** on your device and are not visible to other apps.
- Photos are **never uploaded, never synced to any cloud, and never shared** with third parties or used for advertising.
- The app does not request the device CAMERA permission; photo capture is handled by your device's camera app, and selection uses the Android system photo picker.
- You can delete any photo at any time by deleting or editing the entry within the app.
## 8. Children's Privacy
Ostomy Care Log is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so it can be addressed.

- You can view all of your data within the app at any time.
- You can edit or delete any entry, photo, supply item, or visit you have recorded.
- You can export your data as PDF or CSV for your own records.
### 9.2 Data Deletion
- Deleting an entry within the app permanently removes it from your device.
- **Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data**, including logs, preferences, and photos.
- Because we never receive your data, there is no server-side copy for us to delete.
### 9.3 Notifications
- The app uses local notifications for change-due and low-stock reminders. On Android 13 and above you are asked to grant notification permission.
- You can disable notifications at any time through the app's Reminders/Settings screen or your device settings.
### 9.4 Ad Preferences
- The one-time premium upgrade removes all advertisements.
- You can opt out of personalized ads via your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
## 10. GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Because your health data is stored only on your own device and is never transmitted to us, you exercise most of these rights directly within the app (viewing, editing, deleting, and exporting your data).
For advertising, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain your consent for data processing and personalized advertising in compliance with GDPR/ePrivacy requirements.
To raise any privacy question, contact us at muhammadilyas15@gmail.com.
## 11. Data Retention
- Local data is retained until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app.
- We retain no copy of your data because none is transmitted to us.
- Advertising and billing data handled by Google are retained per Google's own policies.
## 12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, posting a notice within the app. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
