# Privacy Policy for GeoStamp Camera

## 1. Introduction
GeoStamp Camera ("we", "our", "the app") is a GPS photo stamping application that overlays location data, address, date, and altitude onto your photos. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
By using GeoStamp Camera, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
## 2. Information We Collect
### 2.1 Information You Provide
- **Photos** — Images you capture with the camera or select from your gallery
- **Project details** — Project names, descriptions, and color preferences you create to organize photos
- **Notes** — Text notes you attach to individual photos
- **Custom logo** — Watermark images you optionally add to photo stamps (Premium feature)
### 2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- **GPS location data** — Latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy, bearing, and speed captured at the time you take or stamp a photo
- **Address** — Reverse-geocoded street address derived from GPS coordinates using your device's built-in Geocoder (no external API calls)
- **Device information** — Device model, manufacturer, OS version, and app version included in crash reports
- **Advertising identifiers** — Used by Google AdMob for ad personalization (free tier only)
### 2.3 Information NOT Collected
- We do **not** collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identity information
- We do **not** require account creation or sign-in
- We do **not** collect browsing history, contacts, or messages
- We do **not** track your location in the background — location is only accessed when you actively take or stamp a photo
## 3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Stamp your photos with GPS coordinates, address, date, and altitude
- Organize your photos into projects
- Export project reports as CSV files for your records
- Display relevant advertisements to free-tier users
- Fix crashes and improve app stability via crash reports
- Process one-time premium purchases via Google Play Billing
## 4. Data Storage and Security
### 4.1 Local Storage
- All your data is stored **entirely on your device** — photos, projects, location metadata, and settings
- Photos are saved as JPEG files in the app's private internal storage directory
- Project and photo metadata are stored in a local SQLite database (Room)
- User preferences (stamp settings, theme, premium status) are stored in SharedPreferences
### 4.2 No Cloud Storage
- GeoStamp Camera does **not** upload your photos, location data, or project data to any cloud server
- There is no account system, no cloud sync, and no remote backup
- Your data never leaves your device except when you explicitly share or export it
### 4.3 Security Measures
- Photos and database are stored in the app's private internal directory, inaccessible to other apps
- All network communication (ads, crash reports, billing) uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- No passwords or credentials are stored by the app
## 5. Data Sharing
### 5.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
### 5.2 User-Initiated Sharing
- When you use the Share feature, photos are shared via Android's system share sheet to the app of your choice (WhatsApp, email, etc.)
- When you export a project as CSV, the file is shared via the system share sheet
- We do not control how third-party apps handle shared content
### 5.3 Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect data:

### 5.4 Ad Personalization
- Free-tier users see advertisements served by Google AdMob
- AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization
- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads)
- Premium users see no advertisements
## 6. Photos and Location Data
### 6.1 Photo Storage
- Photos are captured or selected only when you explicitly choose to take or import them
- Photos are stored in the app's private internal storage on your device
- Photos are never uploaded to any server or shared with third parties automatically
- You can delete photos at any time from within the app
### 6.2 Location Data
- GPS location is accessed **only** when you actively take a photo or stamp a gallery image
- Location is **not** tracked in the background
- Location data (coordinates, altitude, bearing, speed) is stored locally alongside each photo
- Address is resolved using your device's built-in Geocoder — no external location API is called
- You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings
### 6.3 Data Export
- You can export project data as CSV files containing photo metadata (coordinates, address, timestamp, notes)
- Exported files are shared via Android's share sheet — you control where the file goes
## 7. Children's Privacy
GeoStamp Camera is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
## 8. Your Rights and Choices
### 8.1 Access and Control
- You can view all your photos and project data within the app at any time
- You can edit or delete any project or photo you have created
- You can export your data as CSV for your records
### 8.2 Data Deletion
- Delete individual photos from the Photo Viewer screen
- Delete entire projects (and all associated photos) from the Projects screen
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data, photos, and database
- No cloud data exists to delete — all data is local-only
### 8.3 Permissions
- You can revoke Camera, Location, or Notification permissions at any time via your device's Settings > Apps > GeoStamp Camera > Permissions
- Without Location permission, photos will not include GPS stamp data
- Without Camera permission, you can still stamp gallery photos
### 8.4 Ad Preferences
- Premium purchase removes all advertisements permanently
- You can opt out of personalized ads via device settings (Settings > Google > Ads)
## 9. GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights:
- **Right to access** — request a copy of your data
- **Right to rectification** — correct inaccurate data
- **Right to erasure** — request deletion of your data
- **Right to restrict processing** — limit how we use your data
- **Right to data portability** — receive your data in a portable format (CSV export available)
- **Right to object** — object to data processing for marketing
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent for data processing and personalized advertising in compliance with GDPR.

## 10. Data Retention
- Local data (photos, projects, metadata) is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app
- There is no cloud data retention — all data is on-device only
- Crash reports are retained by Firebase for 90 days
- Analytics data is retained per Google's standard retention policies (14 months)
## 11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy
- Posting a notice within the app
Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
