Gold Price Alert ("we", "our", "the app") is a real-time gold and silver price tracking application with customizable price alerts. Users can monitor precious metal prices across 152 currencies, multiple karats, and weight units, and receive notifications when prices hit their target levels. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

By using Gold Price Alert, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

## 2. Information We Collect

### 2.1 Information You Provide

- **Price Alert Preferences:** Metal type (gold/silver), karat, weight unit, currency, price direction (above/below), and target threshold price

- **App Settings:** Default currency, default weight unit, and theme preference

- **Contact Form:** Subject line, message text, and selected category (Bug Report, Feature Request, General Feedback, Other) when you contact support

### 2.2 Information Collected Automatically

- **Device Information:** Device model, manufacturer, Android version, and app version (included in crash reports and appended to support emails)

- **Crash Reports:** Stack traces, device state, and error logs when the app crashes, via Firebase Crashlytics

- **Advertising Identifiers:** Device advertising ID for serving personalized ads via Google AdMob

### 2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

- We do **not** collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal account information

- We do **not** require sign-in or account creation

- We do **not** collect location data, photos, contacts, or any other sensitive device data

## 3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

- Track gold and silver prices and display them in your preferred currency and unit

- Send push notifications when prices meet your alert conditions

- Monitor prices in the background at your configured interval (4 hours for free users, 15 minutes for premium)

- Display relevant advertisements to free-tier users

- Process one-time premium purchases via Google Play Billing

- Improve app stability by collecting crash reports

- Respond to support inquiries sent via the contact form

## 4. Data Storage and Security

### 4.1 Local Storage

- Your price alerts, cached prices, and price history are stored locally on your device using a Room SQL database

- App preferences (default currency, unit, theme, premium status) are stored in Android SharedPreferences

- No data is stored on our servers — all user data remains on your device

### 4.2 Price Data APIs

- The app fetches gold and silver prices from public APIs (Currency-API and Gold-API.com)

- These API calls are read-only GET requests — no personal data or device identifiers are sent

- Price data received is cached locally on your device

### 4.3 Security Measures

- All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

- No user accounts or passwords are involved

- Release builds use code obfuscation (ProGuard) and resource shrinking

- Price history is automatically cleaned up after 90 days

Gold Price Alert is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

- You can view, edit, and delete any price alert at any time

- You can change your default currency, unit, and theme preferences in Settings

- No account is required, so there is no account data to manage

### 7.2 Data Deletion

- You can delete individual price alerts from within the app

- Price history is automatically deleted after 90 days

- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data (alerts, price history, cached prices, and preferences)

### 7.3 Notifications

- Push notifications require your explicit permission on Android 13+

- You can disable notifications at any time through your device Settings

### 7.4 Ad Preferences

- One-time premium purchase removes all advertisements permanently

- You can opt out of personalized ads via device settings (Settings > Google > Ads)

- You can reset your advertising ID at any time

## 8. GDPR Compliance (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights:

- **Right to access** — request information about data we process

- **Right to erasure** — delete your alerts and uninstall the app to remove all data

- **Right to restrict processing** — limit how we use your data

- **Right to object** — object to data processing for advertising

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent for data processing and personalized advertising in compliance with GDPR. EEA users are presented with a consent form before any ads are shown.

- Price alerts are retained until you delete them or uninstall the app

- Analytics data is retained per Google's standard retention policies
