## 1. Introduction
Anticoag Log ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal, on-device log for people taking warfarin and other vitamin-K antagonist anticoagulants. It lets you record INR test results, warfarin doses and schedules, your target INR range, vitamin-K and interaction notes, and bleeding or other events, and it can remind you about doses and blood tests. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.
By using Anticoag Log, you agree to the handling of information as described in this policy.
## 2. Medical Disclaimer (Please Read First)
Anticoag Log is an informational and record-keeping tool only. It is **NOT a medical device** and does **NOT** provide medical advice, diagnosis, dosing recommendations, or treatment. Warfarin therapy can be life-threatening if mismanaged.
- Never start, stop, or change any dose based on this app.
- Always confirm every dose and any change with your prescribing clinician, anticoagulation service, nurse, or pharmacist.
- The vitamin-K food lists and interaction notes in the app are general educational references and are not personalised advice.
- Seek immediate medical care for serious bleeding, a suspected clot, or any emergency.
You must accept this disclaimer before the app can be used.
## 3. Information We Collect
### 3.1 Information You Provide (Health Data)
All of the following is information **you choose to enter**, and it is stored **only on your device**:
- INR readings (values, dates, times, notes)
- Warfarin dose entries and your weekly dose schedule
- Your target INR / therapeutic range
- Vitamin-K intake notes and medication/food interaction notes
- Bleeding events and other health events you log
- App settings and reminder preferences
This information includes **health data**, which is sensitive. We treat it accordingly: it is never transmitted to us or to any server, and we (the developer) have no ability to access it.
### 3.2 Information Collected Automatically
The app itself does not collect analytics or device information. However, the third-party advertising service described below may automatically collect limited information for advertising:
- Advertising identifier and ad interaction data (used by Google AdMob to serve ads on the free tier)
### 3.3 Information From Third-Party Services
The app has **no account, no sign-in, and no social login**. We do not receive any data from third-party identity providers.
## 4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core app functionality: logging INR results, doses, schedules, range, vitamin-K/interaction notes and events, calculating Time in Therapeutic Range, and displaying your trend chart — all processed locally on your device.
- To send the dose and INR-test reminders you enable (local notifications).
- To generate reports / PDF summaries that you can choose to share.
- To display advertisements on the free tier (via Google AdMob).
- To process the optional one-time premium purchase (via Google Play Billing).
We do **not** sell your information, and we do **not** use your health data for advertising or profiling.
## 5. Data Storage and Security
### 5.1 Local Storage
Your INR readings, doses, schedules, notes and events are stored locally on your device in a private Room (SQLite) database and in app preferences. This data is sandboxed to the app by the Android operating system and is not uploaded to any cloud or server by us. There is **no cloud backup or cross-device sync** in this app.
Because data is stored locally, uninstalling the app or clearing its data will permanently remove your logged information. We recommend exporting a report/PDF before uninstalling if you wish to keep a copy.
Note: If you have enabled Android's system-level backup on your device, the operating system may include app data in your own Google account backup. This is controlled by your device settings, not by us.
### 5.2 Third-Party Services
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. The app uses the following third-party services, which may collect limited data as described in their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Data Accessed | Privacy Policy |
|---------|---------|---------------|----------------|
| Google AdMob | Advertising (free tier) | Advertising ID, ad interactions, coarse device data | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) | Ad consent collection (GDPR/CMP) | Consent choices | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play Billing | Process optional one-time premium purchase | Purchase token (handled by Google) | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play Services | Core app/ads support | Device/ads identifiers | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
Your health data (INR readings, doses, notes, events) is **not** shared with any of these services.
## 6. Advertising and Consent
The free version of Anticoag Log displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use an advertising identifier to serve ads. On first launch, where required (e.g. in the EEA/UK), the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form to ask for your advertising preferences. You can purchase the one-time premium unlock to remove ads. You can also reset your ad consent or limit ad personalisation through your device's Google settings.
## 7. Permissions We Request
| Permission | Why it is used |
|------------|----------------|
| INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Required to load ads and the consent form, and to process the in-app purchase. The app does not upload your health data. |
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | To show the dose and INR-test reminders you enable (Android 13+ asks your permission at runtime). |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | To re-schedule your reminders after the device restarts so you do not miss them. |
The app does **not** request Camera, Location, Contacts, Microphone, or Phone permissions. (If the app offers an emergency-dial shortcut, it opens your phone dialer with the number pre-filled; you choose whether to call, and no calling permission is required.)
## 8. Children's Privacy
Anticoag Log is intended for adults managing anticoagulation therapy (or caregivers doing so). It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
## 9. Your Rights and Choices
- **Access / edit / delete:** You can view, edit, and delete any entry directly in the app at any time.
- **Delete all data:** Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored information.
- **Ad personalisation:** You can change or withdraw ad consent and limit ad tracking via your device settings.
- Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have additional rights. Because we do not collect or store your data on our servers, most such requests are satisfied by managing or deleting data on your own device. For questions, contact us.
## 10. Data Retention
We retain no personal data on any server. Your logged data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
## 11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at the URL above with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
