## 1. Introduction
Event Planner ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application that helps you plan and manage events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and parties. It stores your guest lists, tasks, vendors, budgets, and checklists. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use our mobile application.
By using Event Planner, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
## 2. Information We Collect
### 2.1 Information You Provide
Event Planner only stores the information you enter into it. No account or sign-up is required. Data you may choose to enter includes:
- **Event details** — event name, event type (including any custom types you create), date, venue, budget amount, status, and notes
- **Guest information** — guest name, phone number, email address, group label, RSVP status, plus-ones, dietary notes, and table assignment
- **Task information** — task title, description, assignee name, due date, priority, category, and status
- **Vendor information** — vendor name, quoted price, paid amount, and payment status
- **Budget line items** — estimated cost, actual cost, and descriptions
- **Checklist items** — title and completion state
- **Contact form content (optional)** — if you use the in-app "Contact Us" form, the subject and message you type are sent to our support email via your device's email client
All of the above is stored **locally on your device only** in a private SQLite database. The app does not have cloud sync, user accounts, or servers that store your event data.
### 2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- **Crash diagnostics** — if the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics collects technical information such as the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version to help us fix bugs. This does not include the contents of your events, guests, or any personal details you entered.
- **App usage analytics** — Firebase Analytics collects aggregate, anonymized usage signals (for example, which screens are opened and how often the app is launched) to help us understand overall usage patterns. It does not collect the text of your event data.
- **Advertising identifiers** — Google AdMob uses your device's advertising ID and limited technical signals to display ads in the free version.
### 2.3 Information from Third-Party Services
None. Event Planner does not use Google Sign-In, Facebook Login, or any other federated identity provider. We do not receive any information about you from third parties.
## 3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Provide core app functionality — store and display the events, guests, tasks, vendors, budgets, and checklists you have entered
- Enable CSV export so you can share your data with yourself or others via email or any sharing app of your choice
- Respond to support requests you send via the in-app "Contact Us" form
- Display advertisements in the free version of the app (via Google AdMob)
- Process Premium subscription and one-time Lifetime purchases (via Google Play Billing)
- Detect and fix crashes (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Understand overall usage patterns to improve the app (via Firebase Analytics)
## 4. Data Storage and Security
### 4.1 Local Storage
- All event, guest, task, vendor, budget, and checklist data is stored **only on your device** in a private SQLite database (Room).
- Theme and app preferences (such as dark mode and your custom event types) are stored in Android `SharedPreferences` on your device.
- The app does not maintain any user account or cloud database for your event data.
### 4.2 Cloud Storage
Event Planner does **not** sync your event data to the cloud. There is no user account, no cloud backup, and no way for us or anyone else to read the event data on your device.
The only data that leaves your device is:
- Anonymous/aggregated crash and usage signals sent to Google (Crashlytics, Analytics)
- Advertising requests and responses exchanged with Google AdMob
- Purchase confirmations exchanged with Google Play Billing
- Any message you voluntarily send via the in-app "Contact Us" email form
### 4.3 Security Measures
- All network communication with Google services uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- The app's database is stored in Android's app-private storage, which is isolated from other apps
- No passwords are stored because the app has no login
- CSV exports you create are saved through Android's standard sharing framework (`FileProvider`) and you control who you send them to
## 5. Data Sharing
### 5.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
### 5.2 Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are integrated into the app:
| Service | Purpose | Data Accessed | Privacy Policy |
|---------|---------|--------------|----------------|
| Google AdMob | Advertising (free tier only) | Advertising ID, ad interactions, approximate location | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) | Consent for personalized ads (GDPR/EEA) | Consent preferences | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Firebase Analytics | Aggregate app usage analytics | Usage events, device info | [Firebase Privacy](https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting | Crash logs, device state, stack traces | [Firebase Privacy](https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) |

| Google Play In-App Updates | Prompting you to install app updates | Installed version information | [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) |
### 5.3 Ad Personalization
- Free-tier users see advertisements served by Google AdMob
- AdMob may use device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization
- For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), a consent form is displayed via Google's UMP SDK, allowing you to choose whether to allow personalized ads
- You can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time from your device's Settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads or Settings > Google > Ads)
- Premium subscribers (Monthly, Yearly, or Lifetime) see no advertisements
## 6. Children's Privacy
Event Planner is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, we will take steps to remove it.
## 7. Your Rights and Choices
### 7.1 Access and Control
- All the data you enter is visible to you inside the app
- You can edit or delete any event, guest, task, vendor, budget item, checklist item, or custom event type at any time
- You can export your data to CSV and share it using any app installed on your device
### 7.2 Data Deletion
- Uninstalling Event Planner removes all of your event data from your device
- You can also delete individual items, whole events, or custom event types from within the app at any time
- Because the app does not sync your event data to the cloud, there is no separate cloud copy that needs to be deleted
### 7.3 Advertising & Analytics Choices
- A Premium subscription (Monthly, Yearly) or one-time Lifetime purchase removes all advertisements
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device Settings
- EEA users can change their consent choices at any time from within the app or via device settings
- You can reset the consent form through the GDPR consent management option
### 7.4 Notifications
Event Planner does not send push notifications and does not request notification permission.
## 8. GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- **Right to access** — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- **Right to rectification** — correct inaccurate data
- **Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")** — request deletion of your data
- **Right to restrict processing** — limit how we use your data
- **Right to data portability** — receive your data in a portable format
- **Right to object** — object to data processing for marketing/advertising
Because Event Planner stores your event data only on your device, most of these rights can be exercised by you directly through the app (edit/delete data, uninstall). For crash and analytics data handled by Google, please see Google's privacy policy linked above.
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to obtain your consent for personalized advertising in compliance with GDPR.
To exercise any of these rights or ask a question, contact us at muhammadilyas15@gmail.com.
## 9. CCPA Compliance (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request information about the personal data we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal data. Event Planner does **not** sell your personal data. Since the app stores your event data only on your device, you can delete it yourself at any time by removing items in the app or uninstalling.
## 10. Data Retention
- **Event data (your data):** retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. There is no cloud copy.
- **Crash reports:** retained by Google Crashlytics for up to 90 days, then deleted per Google's retention policy.
- **Analytics data:** retained per Google Analytics for Firebase's default retention window (currently 14 months), then aggregated or deleted.
- **Purchase records:** retained by Google Play for as long as required by Google's billing platform.
## 11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy
- Updating the hosted policy at the URL linked from the app's Settings screen
Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
