Neville Longbottom

Neville, aka Nebnebs,/Nevnevs, aka Nebs/Nevs, aka Nebsy/Nevsie, aka Bumbum, is studying to cast a successful transfiguration spell on himself- this scaredy cat needs your magical support to become a lion! In his first year, Nebs hid under his kennel, too scared to even play with his litter mate. A change of scenery, the kitten equivalent of treacle, and support of his mate helped him feel more confident. Though he still startles easily and tends to scurry away if you reach for him too quickly, he will come to you if you're patient.

He's become an extremely active and athletic kitten. Unlike his namesake, he'd probably be a great quidditch player! Maybe a beater, because he's always pouncing and wrestling with his playmates. His favorite playmate was actually Chucky- a kitten we kitten sat for a few days. They had to be separated for most of the visit, but before the separation and when Chucky & Frankie returned for a sleepover- they had the best time!

Nebnebs has gotten along with all of the kittens and cats with minimal fuss. My dogs pretty much ignore the cats, and Nebs has recently begun to approach them with interest.

Nebnebs likes to keep his brain active too. He figured out puzzle treat toys within seconds. He also figured out how to steal the puzzle toy from everyone else!

When Nebs is done playing and eating he looks for a snuggle. He loves to give kisses. In fact he can be very insistent about giving kisses, pushing his face into your face and licking everything he can reach. If your lap or chest isn't available, he still likes to be nearby. When I'm on my computer he's often on my feet or on my kitten tray keyboard cover.

This little cub just can't wait to be king! Wrong genre, I know... but I couldn't resist.

12/28/2021 Neville has become my near constant companion when he's not tearing around the room in a playful frenzy. It truly is a frenzy! He has more fun playing by himself with a toy than any kitten I've met... and he loves to wrestle with his littermates. But when he's spent his energy, he will find me and curl up in my lap or nearby. We did a puzzle last night and he curled up on my feet and slept the entire time, purring if I touched him at all.

But I did forget to mention his hunger, which is humongous and hilarious. He wants human food, though he is never allowed to eat it, he never gives up trying. He would eat the food directly from your mouth if you let him. We've tried to discourage him with a water spray bottle and we have to laugh every time we try. Nervous Neville, who runs at most things, will look at the spray bottle or his wet fur in bemusement then continue with his quest for food or lick the water off himself.
