I am so behind!! Calendar/Candy Sales and the holiday season got the best of me and I forgot to write this blog... but a family at Petsmart today asked if I knew of any kittens still in foster care that would be available soon... and I thought of these two cuties.
Prince Wolf was a 7 week old singleton who was desperate for a playmate when a 5 week old singleton was found. Wolf had not learned social skills and was very rough with his new little buddy, Trojan (because he threw up a condom, lol) and their foster could only let them play under supervision.
Vaccination/microchip clinic is at my house- all of the kittens come to get shots and health checks every 3ish weeks. Their foster asked if someone could transport her kittens to clinic as her kiddo had a wrestling tournament that day- and I told her she should just drop them off with me the night before!
It was quite thrilling but slightly insane. In addition to my personal pets, at that time, I had the 4 savory delights, Frankie & Grace, and Fender!! For almost 24 hours, I had 9 foster kittens of various ages... and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.
His foster and I hoped my 4 Savory Delights would teach Wolf some social skills. They were almost the same age and much closer in size to Wolf than baby Trojan. The Prince needed SOMEONE to show him boundaries!!
The Prince was QUITE shocked to be thrust into this cat haven and discover he was NOT king of the applesauce!! He tried to avoid the delights and continue wrestling his little brother into submission...but the delights were delightfully nosey, confident, and convinced that everyone in this place is a friend so they gleefully invaded his space and ignored his hissy growly protests.
Mushroom Risotto, who was destined to be named Queen Violet, must have known she was destined to become royalty because she promptly put the little Prince in his place and loved him into submission. At the end of the night, after some intense moments, they curled up near each other and she watched over her little charge. She also made sure that Trojan was comforted after Prince tried to dominate him.
After clinic, I had several friends pop over to sneak in kitten cuddles. Trojan and Beef Stroganoff/Beansie claimed one human while Trojan chose to hang out with his twinsie Pesto Fries/Tux with another.
Their foster let me know that the experience seemed to help Prince Wolf understand his place in the world and the two fosters are getting along. Little Trojan is big enough to fight back and Wolf is learning to play more gently. These two will be ready for adoption soon. I am hoping I'll get to at least see them at Petsmart before they go!
