Scrapper is both sweet and spicy. She greets me every morning and every time I come home. She greets me whenever I enter the room and runs after me almost every time I leave it. I don't think there is any time that she hasn't wanted to be picked up and held, by me or anyone.
But behind the sweet face of this cuddle kitten lies a ferocious beast with a bottomless stomach. Any sign or smell of food brings out a furry pile of sharp teeth. Although the second smallest in her litter, she will step over or push away anything in her way, including big cats or dogs. Scrapper does not let anyone get in between her and a good meal!

Scrapper haw now learned the difference between food and fingers. Though she still approaches food with the same enthusiasm, it's a much safer endeavor. She makes sure she gets her share by getting her face into the food pile, but never in an aggressive way. She might growl a bit if a new kitten comes near while she's eating, but she's never attacked or gotten into a fight.
Last month she got really sick, we're not entirely sure why. She dropped a significant amount of weight, eventually weighing exactly the same as runt brother Jetsam: 1.3lbs while her other brothers were 2+lbs. Her little bottom leaked, particularly any time she was picked up by the belly. Most of the time, she had no energy, so we could just hold her in our laps on a towel. But when she got restless and wanted to walk around, we put her in diapers. She HATED the actual kitten diaper (blue) so we used the sock + pantyliner method.
During this stressful time, she went with Jetsam to my parent's house for monitoring/feeding during my workday. She learned to become almost as relaxed in the car as Jet.
Luckily, with lots of TLC, hand feedings, and probiotics, she recovered and immediately regained the weight she had lost and then some, leaving brother Jet in the dust. She got her energy back, which she uses for play sessions followed by cuddling, which is her specialty.
She's pretty easy going. We found our missing bread collar yesterday. Scrapper was snoozing nearby when my husband brought it into the room, then he plopped it on her head. She never stirred or complained during this photo shoot!
6/15/22 Scrappy Scraps seems to have learned her name and will come sprinting (if she's awake) when I call her. She loves being with people and asks for love with a sweet cry and face rub. She also loves nursing on her fluffy pet bed. She got fixed yesterday and will be heading for adoptions soon. She's going to make a great furry family member!
