Taz, Speedy, and Sylvester changed to a new foster just 3 days before clinic. The new foster already had plans during the clinic day but said she was able to drop them off in the morning and pick them up in the evening. I already had my pets, my fosters, 3 kittens that were dropped off the day before... wha'ts another 3 kittens?! Clinic days are very busy, with people and foster animals coming and going all day- plus my own house pets, fosters, including my big floofy dog. The Loony Tunes bunch took it all in stride- strolling into the house as if they owned the joint and set out to charm the volunteers. While all 3 of them were confident and comfortable running amuck, Sylvester really laid on the charm when he started to tire out. He politely insisted on being held while he casually sucked his thumb and purred.
I didn't really get to see them until after clinic was over and the other kittens who were just there for an overnight were picked up. Speedy and Sylvester, the twins and Taz, the gray tabby, settled right in with the rest of my crew while we waited for their mom to pick them up. I was thrilled when she messaged me, indicating that traffic was awful and asking if they could spend the night. YES!!
The next day was father's day. In the morning before my family arrived, my husband and I sat down to watch some special features from a movie and the Loony Toons bunch claimed our laps, refusing the budge when my own pets and fosters came to inquire about pets. Sylvester continued to suck on his thumb, and all 3 purred up a storm. When they weren't passed out, the looks of unconditional love they gave me just melted my heart.
When my family arrived, they were happy to spread that unconditional love around to everyone and anyone. I got almost no pictures because we were eating lunch then watched a movie together.
Their mom came to get them in the middle of the movie, and that's when I discovered why my dad was so quiet during the movie. He usually reacts to movies with gasps, curses, swearing, laughter.... but he was pretty fascinated by the Sylvester in his lap. No one really wanted to let them go, but I suppose I had to give them back to their foster. They were a really outgoing, social bunch!
