Shortly after they came out of quarantine, we got a visit from some young girls who were happy to help socialize them. It was great to see them shed their fears around new people. Watching my Carb Kittens, who never showed an ounce of fear around people or other pets, really helped the Puzzles trust that this was a safe place.
They enjoyed being in the outdoor catio...
Until someone let the dogs out. Who let the dogs out? My dad, of course... but they didn't place blame... they just ran. Except Tetris... who became the biggest, baddest, most fierce 1 lb protector you've ever seen.
Her initial meeting with the puppies made their first non-barrier puppy meeting extremely surprising! After watching the Carb Kittens stroll around the puppies without fear, the Puzzles decided they too, must be trustworthy. Not only did they abandon their last traces of fear, but they expressed more curiosity in the puppies than any previous litter. First, Sudoku approached for a few cautious nose kisses. Then Paladin Tetris of the hissy fit discovered that Samoyed fur makes the softest kitten bed. She climbed up on Luka and refused to leave. She and Sudoku took turns being cat hats.
The kittens enjoyed both puppies, but Luka's calm demeanor makes him the perfect kitten host. He seemed quite happy with his new lot in life, grinning like a jack-o-lantern as they waddled over him.
