Beef Stroganoff of the Savory Delights has been the most popular foster kitten I've ever raised. I think his oversized heart took up all the space left vacant by his teeny beefy brain. He was so dumb, but so so so so so sweet. Within days of taking him in he had his first set of suitors- one of the most wholesome families I've met (they adopted Cardamom, now Merlin) made arrangements to come meet my little ginger and they did fall in love. But the timing wasn't right, as they were getting married and moving and had so many things happening in their lives.
A second family came to visit and they also fell in love with Beefcake, who perched on the boy's head/neck and purred while his siblings ran around like crazy things. But eventually they realized that their current dog may not be ready for a cat and it wasn't safe to bring a tiny kitten with zero survival skills into their home.
A third family came; I've known this dynamic mom and son duo for years through my work and have ALWAYS adored them. They were looking for a first kitten for the little boy's Christmas present, but they were having difficulty picking. It was easy to convince them that kittens are better in pairs- and so they left hoping they could take Beef and Mushroom Risotto and waited eagerly to hear if their dreams would come true. When the first two families ended up passing on Beef, they were so excited! They sent me one of my FAVORITE post-adoption pictures. Beefcake is now Beasnie and Mushroom RIsotto is now Queen Violet, or Queenie.
They originally planned on taking their babies on an out of town visit, but the grandfather wasn't sure how his dog would react, so I had the joyful opportunity to kitten sit the babies for a few days. It was difficult to believe how much they had grown in the very short time they had been gone! It was cute to see how difficult it was for them to drop their babies off and walk out the door- they loved their littles so much already. They asked me to send them pictures- so I took 313 pics and videos and posted them on facebook every day for them to see (my phone refuses to send videos via text)
I had a little Christmas photo shoot with them too :)
Including this gem- which we put on our Nixplay (digital photoframe that scrolls through pictures). It makes my husband laugh every time we see it and he has to imitate this face:
