Meeko (Alumni)

Meeko's new mom and I connected instantly when I was picking Meeko up from her surgery appointment- we share the same obsession for fluffy calicos and she had spent time during the day to visit with Meeko and started falling in love. I offered to send her the link to the blog, which connected us via text as well. She was able to reach out to me after reading about Meeko to ask about adoption. Over the next week and a half we texted or talked nearly daily. A calico-loving vet tech for a new mom? How perfect!! I shared Meeko's photo album and spent the week adding pictures in and sending little stories. She spent the week looking at the pictures and watching the videos eagerly.

We had a little scare when she developed some breathing trouble, but she recovered quickly and her adoption was cleared to continue on schedule. I sent her home with her favorite crochet unicorn toy.

She didn't take long to play, eat, and settle into her new place, but she was wary of the other cats on the first day. Whenever approached, she'd pause what she was doing to hiss before returning to play.

But Sable didn't give up and Meeko soon felt comfortable enough to play. They're great friends already!
