We had vaccination clinic on 5/29/21. We borrowed the portable catio from my parents since I was doing data entry for the clinic all day. The Carbs and Puzzles charmed everyone walking by by lounging around in their outdoor tower.
At meal time, I count kittens to make sure everyone has shown up. A few days after vaccinations I noticed Tetris was only drinking water. When I thought about it further, I remembered that one kitten had done the same the night before. A moment on the scale and a thousand moments of panic later I realized Tetris' weight had fallen from 1.59lbs to 1.32lbs and she was refusing to eat. At night we separated into the red healing light kitten room so I could monitor her food intake, and during the day we dropped her off with my parents (along with sister Jigsaw) so they could offer her food frequently throughout the day. The next day Crumpet exhibited the same symptoms and joined her at my parent's house.
My father, who never admits he has loved all the kittens he's met, took a liking to Tetris and began campaigning to adopt her along with Jigsaw. Mom stated an emphatic NO. By the time Tetris began feeling better and recovering, mom was wavering and daddy no longer saw Jigsaw as a "funny ugly kitten" but would gaze into her eyes and tell her she is "so cute".
Sudoko seemed to really miss Tetris when she was gone all day.
The seclusions were rough on all of the Carbs and PUzzles. After Tetris began recovering, Crumpet and I spent more time alone in the kitten room. Alone, I received 100% of his affection- and it kept me up the entire night with him rubbing into my face. When I stepped out in the morning to get his breakfast, Crumpet began wailing.
