New in Waze
A new Spanish-Latam voice
Drive with Juan, our new Spanish-Latam TTS voice! He’s friendly and includes street names in his directions. Special thanks to the Spanish-Latam speaking communities who helped bring Juan to life!
Meetups and events
Latam Mega Meetup
70 community members from 18 countries in the Latam region gathered in Panama City to collaborate and shape the future of Waze! It was a weekend of passion, insightful feedback, exciting updates and local flavors.
Indonesia's first Waze Cafe
Kudos to the Indonesian Community who hosted their first ever Waze Cafe in Jakarta! “There’s nothing like meeting in person,” they said, after spending time together to solve local mapping issues and make plans for the future.
Waze Cafes and meetups were also held in Canada, USA and a regional meetup took place in Moldova, including Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Latvia and Lithuania.
Etna Volcano eruption alerts
Kudos to the Italian Community for reporting Volcanic ash on the roads in time to warn Waze drivers with an in-app alert. Thank you for helping the locals stay safe!
New partnerships in Ecuador
The Ecuadorian community is gaining impressive momentum in promoting Waze. Beyond their strong partnership with the Quito Municipality, they're forging new connections, notably with "Habitat and Housing," and creating engaging videos to spread awareness on social media. Your dedication to promoting safer and easier driving with Waze is truly inspiring!
Paris Olympics closures
The French Community and local Waze Partners mapped ~27,000 road closures and 28 restricted zones in the greater Paris area. Thanks for supporting drivers during the games on both Waze and Google Maps!
