It's time for the monthly Editors' Community Newsletter!
Thank you for all your contributions and enjoy your reading :)
The Waze Communities Team
What's new on WME?
WME performance boost
We’re ramping up our efforts to improve WME performance and would love your help!
If you encounter a slowdown or any other problem, report it right away so we can solve underlying issues as soon as possible.
New on Waze
Preferred routes
Sometimes Wazers prefer taking a familiar route to frequent destinations, even if it isn’t the fastest. Now Waze shows info about your usual route and alternatives so you can compare and choose the best one.
Meetups and events
June Office Hours
Register for our next episode of Office Hours on June 23. We'll take a deep dive into how Waze uses data and machine learning to improve performance.
Waze Cafe in the Netherlands
Editors from the Netherlands met for a waterside Waze Cafe where they bonded over drinks and discussed mapping standards for editors.
Waze Cafes and meetups were also held in Canada, Hungary, Moldova, Italy, Brazil, Finland, Malaysia and Portugal!
Get the Meetup Prep Kit
If you're attending one of June's many meetups, refresh your community knowledge with the Meetup Prep Kit. Great for new editors, the kit is available in 7 languages (thanks, Localization Community!)
Community achievements
Traffic control at Italy's AC/DC concert
Kudos to the Italian community for keeping traffic running smoothly during the big AC/DC concert in Italy! Your collaboration with the concert organizers, a Waze partner, helped so many drivers that day. No wonder they asked you to help out with the upcoming Taylor Swift concert in Italy and the Italian Air Force "Frecce Tricolori" in Los Angeles. You rock! 🧑🎤
Safety at 24 Heures Motos France
DrSlump34 from the French Community and Waze for Cities helped ensure the smooth flow of traffic at the recent 24 Heures Motos endurance race in Le Mans, France. Thank you for keeping over 52,000 attendees safe on the roads!
Star of the Month!
Asterix06 is a coordinator, GC, mentor, and booster from Italy. His dedication to mentoring editors worldwide and boosters in APAC is legendary! Not to mention his leadership in Project Eagle, map raids and Waze Discuss migration. We even released a new TTS Italian voice under his real name, Silvio, to show our appreciation!
Thank you, Project Eagle mentors!
Kudos to this wonderful group of community members, who took the time to mentor Waze staff members and help them level up their editing skills:
