Power of Waze Communities, the Brazilian way!

A BIG round of applause to our dear Brazilian community for organizing the 1st South Central Online Local Meetup, the First "Gincana" (competition) of Brazilian Editors. Thank you for bringing in the fun and keeping the community spirit alive. Check out the editor selfies and you might find a few familiar faces!

What's Up With Meetups?

This April we had a great line-up of meetups. We loved the great conversations and your active participation in the annual French Community Meetup, Indonesia Virtual Waze Cafe, and virtual reunion of coordinators of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. Grand Merci! Terima kasih! Gracias!

Who's Famous? You're Famous!

Waze is truly community-driven. Read on to see how Map Editors, Localizers and Beta Testers make Waze what it is today.

Want to know more about what the community is up to? Check out Paul's (AKA paulvdwyn) interview in Dutch on how he keeps the Waze Map up-to-date with Antwerp roadworks information. And also read this awesome post on the Waze Blog about Chris's Last 5 Drives.

Plan Your Drives Better

We’re excited to share that Wazers will now see their preferred route surface more consistently (visual badge is expected in the future).

Also, Wazers can now add an origin to a planned drive - helping drivers to plan ahead and navigate even better. A big thank you to our Beta testers who helped us roll out the latest improvements. Click here to read all about it.

Meet a Top Contributor - Riccardo from Italy

Riccardo, AKA RickyPV89 from Italy started editing the Waze Map in 2011 when he first downloaded Waze on his phone and was amazed with how he could draw streets in his neighborhood. He continues to have the same passion for map editing 10 years later, because he loves the fact that he is helping Wazers find better routes.

As a Global Champ, Riccardo's tip to new editors is "Pay attention to what to do and what not to do while editing the map as it affects the user experience and safety during a drive."

Riccardo, we're inspired by your passion to help other drivers, thank you for all you do :)

Support for New Permit in Argentina

Thanks to the community in Argentina, users in Buenos Aires, can now add TelePASE Arg, a mandatory permit, to get the best routes without having to pay a fine.

Know What Roles Wazers Play?

Did you know that Waze Communities have over 20 different roles and achievements that Wazers can attain? We've created a handy new deck that details all of the roles, and the special badges and criteria for each! Check it out on Wazer to Wazer.

Finally, Better Navigation With Postcodes in UK

We're happy to share that a major upgrade for UK postcode navigation has been released to the app! UK Wazers can now enjoy more accurate routes with this latest launch.

In Honor of Our Dear Departed Friends

We'd like to pay our respects to Willian Argollo, AKA Wargollo from Brazil and Jorge Barrios, AKA jbarrios107 from Colombia who sadly passed away. They were pillars of our Waze Editors community and dear friends to us all. May they rest in peace.

We want to hear from you :)
