Waze Map Editor Updates

Exciting new features were recently added to the Waze Map Editor - The ability to duplicate closures in a single click, as inspired by @Twister-UK's script, and allowing up to 20 linked Google places! Follow the WME forum to be the first to know of new features!

New App Features

Google Assistant in Waze is now also available in France, Spain, Brazil and Mexico!

A new Trip Suggestions drawer is displayed to all users who update their app, thanks to our dear Beta Community members who tested this feature for the past year! The Trip Suggestions drawer includes Recent Destinations and other helpful features to help Wazers quickly start navigating.

Listen to Audiobooks while navigating - Audible users can now listen to their favourite audiobooks while using Waze! Read about connecting Waze and Audible here!

Prepare for future drives with the Waze LiveMap!

The Waze LiveMap has been updated, so you can now easily plan your next drive and save a planned trip!

Meet a Top Contributor - Paul from Canada

Paul started editing the map in 2016 and has since become an Area Manager, who enjoys meeting other editors.

Before COVID, you'd usually see Paul on his bike.

As a map enthusiast, Paul sees great significance in improving the accuracy of Waze, especially after once nearly getting stuck on a muddy dirt road due to poor hand written directions.

Paul invites editors visiting Winnipeg to call him up for a pint :) Thank you for all you do, Paul!

Quick Response by Our Local Communities!

Quickly acting to help North American Wazers navigate during the recent storm, the local Community added hundreds of road closures and warming centers. Wazers in some areas also received a notification about shelter locations.

In Ukraine, roads were blocked by heavy snowfalls so the local community partnered with the Ukrainian road service and asked drivers to report blocked roads they encountered through the app.

The Belgian community recently coordinated a new restricted area, so local Wazers could add their permit and avoid getting a ticket.

Waze Fanart as a Teaching Aid in Ecuador

KellyUIO from our community in Ecuador teaches graphic design, communication and multimedia. Sharing her love of Waze, she asked her students to complete a group assignment creating Waze fanart. The best projects were shared on the Waze Ecuador social media channels! Check out more of their creations here.
