Making Localized Roadshields a soon-to-be Reality

Shout-out to our dear community members for being super-engaged in testing the Roadshields feature in WME and Android Beta. Your feedback in the real world helps us source all the hyperlocal data and build an accurate database of shields and exit signs. Read more about it here.

Our Virtual Events Rock Because of You!

THANK YOU everyone for bringing your enthusiasm, positive vibes and amazing community spirit to all our virtual meetups. Your highly energized conversations around editing and scripting made the Netherlands Community Online Waze Cafe super productive. And we're glad you loved the gift boxes with the cool treats and Waze stickers that we put together for you :)

Interested in connecting with your community in more fun ways? Keep an eye out for our upcoming events through the Meetups Site.

Mapping Together to Build Better Routes

A BIG thank you to our amazing Waze Map Editor champions for joining us in hosting workshops to help other editors improve their editing skills. The Waze Master Class for beginners in Spanish with our special guest editor Gaspar AKA gasparfox, was a huge success and we're delighted to see a 31% increase in L1 edits after this webinar. Way to go!

In France, we hosted our first-ever Map Editor workshop for the press. Jérôme Marty, Waze Country Manager @France, kicked off the proceedings by introducing Waze, with local context on the map editor community in France. Local Champs DrSlump34, Kpouer and Sebiseba gave a demo of WME and shared their map editing experience.

Want to pick up map editing tips and tricks? Stay tuned for upcoming Master Classes. Log in to the Waze Map Editor to update Waze's Live map as you drive.

Meet a Top Contributor - Ricardo from Bolivia

Ricardo, AKA CamachiSpeedy, started his fun journey of editing the map in 2012 while learning how-to-do it from YouTube videos. Ricardo, now a Local Champ, loves the fact that by mapping areas and streets, he is able to help Wazers find better routes. His tip to new editors is, "use correct information to edit maps, because it affects the driving experience of other drivers."

Ricardo is willing and happy to share his knowledge and experience with anyone who wants to learn more about map editing.

Ricardo, we applaud your enthusiasm to help others, thank you for all you do:)

Trip Overview - Coming to More Wazers!

In the coming weeks, Beta Community Wazers will start seeing a brand new pre-drive experience, Trip Overview! This new visualization will feature sleek, easy-to-use and informative information about an upcoming route. The feature will be available to Beta after being tested for a few months by a dedicated testing group.

Come join the Beta Community!

Who's Famous? You're Famous!

On Mother's day, we spoke to some awesome moms like dear Regina from Brazil to know how they use their car in fun ways to keep them going. Read this blog to know more.

Also check out how Juan AKA locojd1 used Waze to focus on how to propose to his girlfriend, instead of how to get to her house :)

Magical Moments @ Waze Community in Action

We're touched by how the Brazilian Waze Carpool community came together to make a young Wazer fan's birthday special. Thor has autism and his favorite fun activity is finding routes and paths on the Waze App which inspired his mom to give him a Waze-themed birthday. She reached out to the community and they stepped in to help her celebrate it in the best Wazer way possible - complete with treats and a Super Waze kit, fun swags and a personalized letter too. Thanks for making it magical!

We want to hear from you :)
